I haven't tried it, and I wouldn't recommend it. It's a little too heavy.
This material appeared to be HDF at first, but it appears to be a higher density MDF, and it cuts okay on a laser (my particular use) after some tweaking of cut speed and power, but leaves a very charred yet crisp edge that needs to be cleaned thoroughly or it will leave char all over your fingers and anything else it comes into contact with. The spray paint will not adhere to it unless it has been properly primed prior to application.
Fiberboard is a type of wood that is denser than plywood. I use it as a canvas. I've never had a stain.
Epoxy is what I'd recommend.

I needed 6x8 for book binding, so I purchased these. Even though that was going to be a little smaller than what I needed, I could trim a few pages to make it fit better. br>br>These ended up being 5 3/4 x 7 3/4br>I know a quarter of an inch isn't much, but when binding a book by hand and having to cut all the pages to fit, it makes a huge difference.
I'm changing my mind about my previous review, in which I stated that this product could not be used on a lasercutter. It's usable, but because it's HDF rather than MDF, cutting it will take more power and result in a lot of charring. It's a fairly reliable 1. 9mm thick on all sides. I plan to use it primarily for small jigs to set up wood coins, dice, and other small items. I was able to make a Dollhouse bunk bed for my daughter, which turned out quite nicely after sanding off the charred edges and painting it.
I use this to pour paint on instead of a canvas when I do acrylic pour painting. They were a huge success.
For miniature terrain bases, this is a good choice. It was used to make dungeon tiles.
On the bag, there is a nice formaldehyde gas warning sticker! Working with a laser cutter is not something I want to see, even though I have a good exhaust system. I could get material without it, so it's just another thing to worry about. br>Flimsy and not particularly stiff, it resembles the back of a cheap clipboard. The only difference is that A clipboard, as far as I can tell, does not have fibers like that.
These panels were exactly what I needed for an encaustic workshop that I ordered. They're light, but they're incredibly durable. The board did not warp as a result of using hot wax and a heat gun. I intend to paint with acrylics and oils on them as well. On top of that, there's a fantastic price.
Laser cutting and engraving are both possible with this material. To get the right setting, you only need to be willing to sacrifice one sheet. After hand painting and applying a high gloss to protect it from water, I was able to make a custom coaster. I will definitely order from you again.
I'm a wargamer who prefers to play with miniatures. I play Warhammer, among other games, and needed a sturdy surface on which to build terrain. These pieces are a good size and sturdy, while still being thin enough to cut with a sharp hobby knife. I've made a few things with them so far, including miniature bases and terrain pieces, and it was simple and rewarding once I got the hang of it. They don't warp when you use paint or glue on them, and they're heavy enough to keep things from falling over.
