Not sure. It has a thin top layer.
It should be sealed first and foremost. Unless, like me, you're working on a painting that would benefit from a woody feel. Regardless of whether the surface is sealed or not, it is a good one.
The outside dimensions are 12" x 12", but the inside dimensions are 10 3/4" x 10 3/4" due to the frame around the edge. I hope this has been of assistance.
They've all been painted with spray paint.

To achieve a smooth surface, I'll have to apply a layer of wood putty. I'd come back, but I'd need a quick turnaround time. Unfortunately, on Amazon, you get what you pay for.
Just wanted to let you know that there are better panels out there that cost a little more. The surface is rough, and it will take a few layers of gesso to make it worth painting on, but they're put together so badly that it feels like the braces will fall off if it's dropped.
I didn't even open the rest of the package because it had a large crack in the top panel. I'm going back for a refund right away. It didn't appear to be of particularly high quality from what I could see through the clear plastic.
Because these were so cheap compared to Amazon's price for the brand I usually buy, I should've expected them to be of lower quality. These, on the other hand, were particularly disappointing because they shed slivers of wood as you painted on them. I tried lightly sanding one of them, but it didn't seem to help. These are not something I would order again.
Each of their hand and foot prints are now hung in a row on our wall in a spooky form. The quality was good for the price, and I didn't have to add anything to hang it on the wall because it was open in the back like a canvas. To make the series, I simply hung the top one on a nail and stapled ribbon between the others. My purchase was a great success.
This event is strictly for children. Do not purchase these panels if you are a serious artist. The grain is flaky and the wood is very thin. br>It's probably best for kids and students who aren't serious about their studies.
The wood panels appealed to me. Acrylic Pourings are a breeze with them. Only one of the six wooden panels that I ordered was defective. It was dented on the outside. The most important aspect of this type of art is the smoothness of the surface. br>Thank you very much, Heidi Mendoza Haueterbr>.
It's nice and solid, but it's not too heavy. If you tape around the edges and gesso twice, you can make a painting that doesn't need to be framed!.
