It is very clear that the stretcher strips from this company are of much higher quality than those from the Masterpiece brand which I also bought (since the stretcher strips offered were of different sizes). When I tried to assemble a frame with both brands, I noticed there was a difference in quality. However, I was saddened to find out at least two of them were In the four that I opened, I have only opened two. They will either have to be sent back to you if I can't glue them or if I have to glue them myself. A plastic bag was wrapped multiple times around each separate strip and then heavy tape was used. As a result of the environmentally wasteful packaging, the individual strips were difficult to open and the ends of the stretcher strips, which are the most delicate and vital piece of equipment, were not adequately protected. A much better rating would have been awarded if the packaging had been done properly and the product had arrived in good condition. In my attachment, I have a picture of one of the broken strips in the condition I found it in when I opened it. I discovered another damaged strip that had a chip at the end but not as bad as the other one. A bit different from what I would select from a shelf of flat ones, but it's functional enough that a return is not worth the trouble. A comparison of the Fredrix brand against their competitor, Masterpiece, is shown in the next photo. The Fredrix has Aside from feeling heavier and more sturdy, the wood is also thicker.
