It works great if you mean an inkjet print on stretched canvas gallery wrapped on stretcher bars (also known as a giclee). It's something we've used a lot.
It helps to reduce the amount of damage caused by bubbles on canvases. It was used on an existing painting that had been damaged by customs because it had been pressed against something during shipment within a shipping container. I used it several times, and it reduced the size of the large bubble to the point where it was no longer visible.
I don't know for sure, but I don't think this would work well on an oil-based surface. Because it is water-resistant, primed canvas is used. based - Perhaps it's because it wouldn't penetrate an oil-based substance. fabric that has been treated with a primer It's perfect for acrylic-based projects. cotton or linen canvases that have been primed!
I used it to tighen indentations from leaning the canvas against something, but I've never used it for the entire canvas. The indentation was removed as a result of this.

Stretch, just do it, and you'll see what I mean. This is a fantastic product! , tried a few other products, and spoke with three or four artists, all of whom advised me against using water or any other product to fix a wrinkled canvas that had already been stretched. That's right, this product fixed it in a matter of seconds! It's that good (approximately 50 seconds after application). There was no need for me to re-write anything. Stretching or hiring someone to construct a new frame are both options. They could easily double the price for what it does. This is something I did on my own (I'm not an artist or a craftsperson). oh. By the way, my canvas was 11 inches wide by 11 inches long. 5' x 8' Simply amazing results at 5 feet. )br>br>Photos of the before and after are included.
Tight-knit has been my go-to for a long time. I've been up several times, the most recent time on a very loose canvas that I stretched myself (hint: it was a very loose canvas). Do not wet the canvas before stretching it - It simply continues to stretch). On the back of the canvas, I painted one coat and let it dry. It was better, but there was still a lot of give to it. As a result, I went through the same steps again. In order to obtain a drumhead, It took about seven coats to achieve the tension I wanted, so allow time for several coats with drying time in between each if you want your canvas to be really tight. Also, while the instructions say not to get it too wet, it does need to be damp all over, and some wetness is unavoidable. It's possible to get rid of it. Even better, use a flat brush to direct excess moisture between the canvas and the stretchers, where spraying will not reach evenly. Give yourself plenty of time to dry - Otherwise, when you start painting, your canvas will stretch once more. The amount it stretches depends on how loose it was to begin with. br>br>Because my canvas was initially very loose, it did stretch out a little after vigorous brushwork. One recoat, allowed to dry thoroughly, brought it back into line much better than simply tightening it with water would have. (It's the cheapest way to do it, but it's not as effective. )br>br>I'd give this product 5 stars if it weren't for the fact that the finger-stitching isn't as effective as it could be. squirt the 8-ounce bottle of spray paint The ounce size is too taxing to use. Instead, spending the extra money on the 16-inch version is well worth it. I was able to get the oz size with the trigger pump later on. Furthermore, even if your canvas was not excessively loose when you started, you may find that you need to recoat once you get started. I would have given Tight-knit a higher rating if the page had allowed it. As a very good product, it gets 4 1/2 stars.
Whatever setting I choose, nothing comes out of the nozzle. I believe the "glue" has hardened inside the sprayer and rendered it useless. I was fortunate enough to have an empty spray bottle to which I could transfer it. I used it on a heavily wrinkled canvas, and the results were far better than I had hoped for. It became perfectly acceptable to use in a matter of minutes. Sharp creases simply vanished as if by magic!.
As stated in the advertisement. But ten times out of ten, I turn the as spray nozzle to "off" after the first use, and the next time I want to use it, I turn it to "spray," and it's locked. I can't press the button without busting the plastic, so I have to use a paintbrush to apply the product. This is something I've had to do with each of the 12 bottles I've purchased. However, you will not be able to capture me again. I'm done. Don't throw your money away.
The moving company crated a large and expensive painting of our four daughters when we moved. After the painting was UNC rated, one of the movers placed his hand on the back of the stretched canvas, attempting to lift his side up, causing a large "dimple" in the stretched canvas. When I brushed the fabric against the canvas, the dimple almost vanished. I took the second coat and walked away. This is an excellent product.
Wow. This is effective! I'm a beginner artist, and this spray keeps me from having to stretch my canvas. You apply the spray to the area that needs to be tightened and wait five minutes for it to take effect. I wish I'd known about this product sooner! The retention spray comes highly recommended!.
I'm always wary of "miracle" products that claim to work. I was so sure this stuff wouldn't work that I bought a good set of frame keys at the same time to do it the old-fashioned way if it didn't. So now I'm sitting on my workbench with an unused set of frame keys. I followed the instructions and applied two coats, the first in small sections and the second after the first had dried completely. The canvas was sagging and rippled when I first started. It was y and had "waves" to it. It's as if it were a snare drum head now. This product does exactly what it claims to do. Amazing.
