Acrylic paint is perfect for these canvases, so they should definitely use it!
The pastels are something I haven't tried yet.
The canvas thickness is about half an inch, which is fairly standard.
Although the description states that they come in a pack of 8, they are actually 12x12 inches. As expected, I received a score of eight.

The black primer is stunning and was applied to the canvas flawlessly, and the canvas itself is of good quality. The 12x12 inch canvases are not perfectly sized, which is a drawback. The canvases range in size from 12 inches on one side to 12 inches on the other. On the other side, it's 25 inches long and 12 inches wide. They aren't nearly as square as they could be, and even the untrained eye can see this. This is fine for practice paintings, but it isn't good enough to sell to a paying customer.
My white ones are usually painted black by me. Not here. The surface is easily adhered to. Solid and dependable. br>These are difficult to come by in'regular' craft stores! Heat, glue sticks, and E6000 are all accepted. The color doesn't bleed through to the back of the shirt. There are no marks or flaws. br>Great packaging and quick delivery; I've ordered this twice and will continue to do so. br>** Update** 8/6/20br>Ordered more and became a HUGE fan! br>You will never be let down.
Paintings on black canvas are more dramatic than paintings on white canvas, and the black canvas makes it much easier to achieve the effects I wanted in this one. They're of good quality, and they're a pleasure to work with.
During a difficult time for all of us, I needed something for the kids. When I discovered these, I was overjoyed because the kids had thoroughly enjoyed painting the entire canvas black. But what if it all started like that? IT DID. They were enthralled by the prospect of simply painting on a blank canvas.
Excellent packaging and good quality. They were all individually wrapped in plastic when they arrived. There are no marks or scuffs on the item. The paint adheres well to these. Great price and excellent product; finding square black canvases (as opposed to rectangular) is a little more difficult, so I took a chance on these and was not disappointed. I bought a few from various sources as well, and these are on par with the rest.
My grandson enjoyed making space paintings with them.
