Scratchboard art isn't something I do myself. However, if you buy the same thing from a brick and mortar store, it will cost you more. It was the first question the cashier asked at the brick and mortar location - If I were going to make scratchboards, I'd use this method. As a result, I believe the answer is still a long way off. It was a store where you could buy art supplies. This isn't a craft store.
Thank you for taking the time to contact us. This clayboard, which is 1/8" thick, is classified as a flat clayboard. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to help you.
It is up to you to read the product descriptions to find out. I'm aware that smaller sizes come with multiple boards.

TWICE. The corners of the boards were destroyed and peeling, so they were ordered to be replaced. I returned the package and placed a new order, assuming there had been an error. Only to have to wait another week for new boards to arrive, which were also chipped. Unacceptable when it comes to displaying artwork.
Three of the corners were bent.
Excellent for airbrushing.
For my collage work, I enjoy using this surface. My brother-in-law was with me. Law had no trouble cutting the two boards down to size. I'm going to put each board in a shadow box and hang them in my house. I'm looking forward to it.
All of them should be tried. You will not be dissatisfied with your purchase.
a fantastic item.
I've worked with ampersand clayboard before, and it's a fantastic surface for painting when it's not damaged. Both of the panels I ordered were chipped and scratched because this particular supplier failed to inspect the boards prior to packaging. This will not work at all when using airbrush or fine art techniques. I'm very dissatisfied with this outcome. The next time I order, I'll most likely go straight to Blick.
