This is the answer I would give. It would be great if I could give 5 stars. suspect the palette on the lid is suitable for storing a pad or two of paper behind it, if I need such a thing. The game does work, although it is awkward to execute and a bit stiff in moving parts. Isn't it a nice thin case with a natural grain look? I am happy with this wooden art box which is varnished outside and unfinished inside. It is hard to find well made inexpensive wooden art boxes, and I am pleased with this one. A bit larger than I expected, it will hold quite a bit and will fit my long handle oil painting like that it has loops on the sides for attaching a shoulder strap (not included) if needed. Please see the photos I included to see how 37ml tubes fit in each part of the bag.
