Lori, my wife, was in charge of constructing that stand which she is very good at doing. In her report, she says some of the wing nut threads are rough and do not feed easily. She also reported that there are holes opposite all bolt holes, so drilling further is not needed. This stand is sturdy as far as I am concerned. I believe the stand has the ability to accommodate much larger canvases and canvas boards than the pegs seemed to be able to accommodate when it was delivered. There is a lot of vertical space between the frames of this canvas dryer, which represents its main advantage. The canvases can be stretched easily even if they are thick. In the second photo, there is an 11x14 painting on stretch canvas resting on top of Additionally, you will find that the front of the pegs has a strip of wood across it. In this case, the length of the wood enables it to contact both sides of the stretcher, preventing the canvas from being hit by the pegs. As a result, the pegs push up the canvas from the bottom when they do not have that piece of wood. A small rubber end piece is attached to the pegs, which prevents the canvas from being punctured by the small pegs. The canvases are pushed up somewhat by the small pegs, however, and I am concerned about it. My fear is that it will damage the painting after it has dried because I'm not sure how it will work. That fear was gone as soon as the wood strip was applied. If the wood strip is in contact with the wood strips on each edge of the canvas, the canvas will not push upward. In this case, almost any long-way or landscape stretched canvas can be put on the dryer. We are able to handle any reasonable size if it is related to canvas boards. There is no wooden strip from side to side, and the top to bottom is even more big. dryer's pegs makes it easy for the dryer to tip when used from the front, but the wooden strip solves even that problem. Whether it's a canvas, board, or stretched canvas, when it topples forward the higher peg keeps it from falling over. As the tip of the canvas lays nearly flat, it won't slide out of place. There is no doubt that the front edge of the canvas (the painted part) will come in contact with the upper pegs, but just slightly below the bottom line. The stand is not flimsy or weak in any way, so one cannot say that it's not sturdy or reliable. There is no such thing. When working on very large paintings, this method does not work well, but more importantly, extra large paintings always require special consideration in nearly every aspect of the process. The pegs will have to be covered by a solid piece of plywood or white foam project board if you want to dry regular thickness paper on it. Instead of using wood, you can use strips cut from the foam board that are 2 inches wide to support the stretched canvas, just avoid stretching it to a large size. The product seems to be a good one. AD2 is good.

I bought it as a Christmas gift for my wife, and she hates it. Having assembled it rather quickly, I tested it by putting her Masonite boards on it, and that was fine, but when I tried some of her canvases, that was when the problem began. Unless you have a canvas larger than 11" wide, you cannot use this system since the rods miss the frame of the canvas and poke the canvas itself, leaving depressed areas Dowel rods are used for the rests, but they are made of wood, making them extremely bendy and not very strong in the end. While I was disappointed with the setup, I felt sorry for my wife since she had been looking forward to having her own It would have been my expectation that this unit could be used for any kind of painting surface, considering how much it costs. It's hard to keep it from tipping over when you try screwing it together because some of the holes are too small to allow the bolts to go through. The only thing I wish I had bought was one that was already assembled. This is destined for the trash, just so you know how unhappy I am with it. appears to be of decent quality, but I have a couple of issues with it. First, I was unable to assemble it because I wanted to use it as a horizontal table unit and there were It was a wing it situation for my partner and me. I had no difficulty setting it up or putting it I initially thought it was flimsy but this is a good product. Canvas panels and painting paper can be attached to this elastic band.

I needed something similar to this, but the dowels are too short. They tend to squish up into the canvas instead of holding the rails in place.
