Questions & Answers

Is it possible to thread buttonhole elastic with this method?

I haven't tried it yet, but I believe it should work as long as the elastic is long enough to pass through the Easy Threader's loop. I don't think a button larger than 1/2 inch would be able to pull it through the loop, so as long as there's enough elastic to pull it on, it should work.

Is it possible to use elastic and ribbon in this project?

It will work for almost anything pliable if it fits in the threader hole.

I'm looking for a threader that will work with tubes with an inner diameter of 1/8". I'm curious as to how big this is. ?

The threader's core (plastic cord) is about 1/8-inch thick. diameter of one inch The eyelet, on the other hand, has a 5/16-inch OD (outside diameter) and is used to hold the cord or thread. imch, more than twice as much as you want to spend. Even if completely flattened and used with a very thin thread, it is still 3/16-inch thick. inch OD (outer diameter), which is again greater than the maximum size you require. Of course, if you use a thick cord like I do (1/8-inch), you'll need to be more careful. It increases the total diameter by another inch OD.

Can I use this to get the half of a hoodie drawstring out that is stuck in the sweater and the other half that is out?

To rethread the string, you must first pull it all the way out.

I'm embarrassed that I didn't know about this device
5/5

I recently purchased a pair of "roomy" sweatpants to layer on cold days and discovered that the drawstring was insufficient for high-intensity, active workouts, and that I needed to supplement with an elastic band in the waistband. Anyone who has ever misplaced a drawstring in their sweatpants, shorts, or hoodie knows how frustrating it can be. As a result, I went to YouTube University and came across THIS item. (the angels begin to sing) - I had one and two different width elastic waistband rolls ordered before I realized it. br>br>It took me longer to open the package and set up the band in the eye hole than it did to thread the new waistband. br>br>It's a simple 2 foot piece of plastic with a large needle eye hole at the end. That's it; that's all there is to it. It worked perfectly. br>br> br>br>Order one right now, even if you don't need it right now. $5 is a small price to pay for the peace of mind that comes with knowing you can fix your favorite pair of sweatpants, shorts, or PJs with this device.

The item's versatility is fantastic
5/5

OMG! Finally. I can re- My only complaint is that the end where the drawstring is inserted is VERY, VERY slim, which makes it difficult to string my hoodies and pants. It's by design, I believe, so the drawstring doesn't get tangled in the middle of the garment - It will not fit, however, if the drawstring has a large knot or end. The purchase was well worth it. The item's versatility is fantastic. It's a breeze to move around in the clothing item. I re- In less than three minutes, I was able to string a coat and a pair of lounge pants. SOLD!.

It's insanely awesome! It's incredible how transformative this simple piece of plastic has been in people's lives

I make and sell embroidered drawstring bags, and I had been pulling the ribbon (or other drawstring material) through the channel with a safety pin, as my frugal mother had taught me as a child. As with the majority of sew- People are aware that when they're in the channel, they have a proclivity to become unpinned - Because the majority of my bags are made of satin or other fancy fabrics, an open pin stuck inside has the potential to snag and ruin the project (at the very last step, no less). I've also had problems with safety pins becoming tangled in seam allowances, and when I use ribbon, being poked with a pin causes the end to fray. must be trimmed off at a later time br>br>This easy-to-use tool has solved all of my drawstring issues in a flash! The flexible end of the ribbon slides into the eye, while the stiff end goes straight through the channel to the other opening. Give it a tug, and zzzzzZZZIP! All of this was accomplished in less than two seconds, with no aggravation! I can't believe how much I adore this ridiculous creature. Whoever came up with the idea was a GENIUS. It has cut down on my work time, reduced stress, and improved the quality of my life, not to mention saved my expensive satin bags from being ruined by unsightly pin snags. br>br>I haven't tried pulling elastic through a waistband yet, but I'm sure it'll be just as simple and satisfying. If my mother were still alive, she would be furious that I spent money on something that could be accomplished with a safety pin. Technically, a safety pin could be used, but this is SO MUCH BETTER! Worth $8. 50, if only to make the project's final step as simple and enjoyable as possible. Sewing should be enjoyable! Not at all aggravating!.

I would not recommend this product because it is not durable
3/5

Great concept and idea, but in practice, it's a disaster; It's not durable or user-friendly enough. I bought it with the intention of repurposing it. I was going to use a metal coat hanger to thread the pull cords on my sweat pants and the like, but I ended up using a metal coat hanger instead; I should have thought of this before I bought it because it's going to be thrown away!.

This is incredible
5/5

One of these is a must-have for me. I recently purchased a pair of drawstring pants that I immediately fell in love with. I lost my drawstring very far into the waistband in the first wash, and I tried a lot of different household items to no avail. It was extremely simple to use this product. It has a thick one-end that makes it easy to grip. Because my string was flat, it was simple to guide the end into the small hoop. I believe it would be even simpler with the round type, which appears to be more common. br>Buy one of these if you own a lot of drawstring clothing. It will not harm your clothes in the same way that household items can. This would make a great gift or stocking stuffer for a hoodie fan you know! I was thinking about getting one for my son.

Saves sweatpants in a simple manner! I had a couple of pairs of sweatpants that had seen better days
5/5

I needed to restring all of the waist ties, so I used one of these. It's as if the solution is on the lookout for problems to solve. It was quick and easy to restring the sweatpants because you didn't have to rip out seams and then sew everything back together with the new string in place. There was no squandering of time, and I'm looking forward to solving the next problem.

Meh
3/5

I put elastic in my pants with it. It threads _itself_ with relative ease. However, the friction is too great for the elastic to be pulled through at that point. It is extremely inconvenient. br>I would not purchase this product again. Clover Needlecrafts 205753 Clip 'n Glide Bodkin Set produced significantly better results.

WARNING: IF YOU HAVE EYLETS, BEWARE
3/5

WHILE THIS THREADER PERFORMS PERFECTLY - A DISCLAIMER. IF YOU WEAR EYELETS IN YOUR SWEATS, IT WILL NOT WORK. THE THREADER AND THE NEW DRAWSTRING WERE TOO BIG TO DRAW THROUGH THE EYELET. TO MAKE IT WORK, I HAD TO CUT THE EYELETS OUT.
