Three were included in the package, and I would still be using the first one if my puppy hadn't chewed one up. They have an indefinite shelf life.
Rubber is used to make these needle pullers. Others I've purchased do not last as long as the Dritz, and they are made of a thinner rubber that does not grip as well.

But I've never used it for that. So my five-star rating is based on how I use these needle pullers personally. br>br>When cutting fabric with a rotary blade, I use the Dritz needle pullers to help stabilize my acrylic rulers. These little fellas are fantastic! They prevent my ruler from slipping around on the fabric beneath it, allowing me to cut straighter and cleaner. I've worked with a variety of non-traditional materials. The slip adhesive rings are supposed to improve the grip of your ruler. meh! In comparison to these needle pullers, the adhesive rings didn't grip nearly as well. I didn't care for the fact that the rings had to be adhered to my ruler with adhesive. I've also used sandpaper in the past. It did not work. These needle pullers not only give my rulers a great grip, but they also don't require any adhesive. I simply lay them out on the fabric and cut with my ruler on top. I pick them up and put them away when I'm finished. Adhesives have no effect on my ruler! br>br>I began with a single pack of three pullers. I bought several more packs for my longer rulers because they worked so well. This product for gripping rulers has exceeded my expectations. br>br> Quilters, like me, are likely to appreciate this. This is something I recommend to anyone who has trouble keeping their rulers from slipping while cutting fabric. However, I'm not sure how well these would hold up to hand sewing, embroidering, and other embellishments. br>br>I've included a photo to give you a better idea of the size of these. Also, while Amazon's photo depicts a khaki color, the ones I received on both of my orders were a dark, forest green color.
I did not receive the item depicted in the photo (although the product number is identical). I would not have ordered if I had read previous reviews about people being dissatisfied with replacements. To reflect the accuracy of the product, the image should be updated. The color of the item received is not the same as the color shown in the picture, which is not what I wanted. Thank you very much.
They cupping quickly and making it difficult to wrap and grab the needlebr>The tan one I have grips better and has lasted me two hand quilted quilts worth of usebr>Wish they would use the same rubber, instead they use cheaper stuff just glad they don't cost muchbr>Wish they would use the same rubber, instead they use cheaper stuff just glad they don't cost muchbr>.
The needle pullers are a must-have item. I've been quilting with them for years, and I'm still using them. Pulling the needle out of the batting and fabrics has become increasingly difficult as my fingers have aged. I pull the needle out with a needle puller, and presto! It's simple to remove the needle. I order multiple packages because these little pullers seem to get lost, and I find them between cushions and under the couch when I order them. LOL! This is a must-have for anyone who sews.
For larger needles used in needlepoint canvas work, sturdy needle pullers are available. Flexible, durable, easy to clean, and long-lasting lasting.
The new green disks have a terrible slickness to them. Useless. Instead of slipping less on the needle, they slip more.
When hand sewing, this is a must-have to keep the needle from slipping through the fabric.
Excellent value for money, and quick shipping. This little gadget, which is necessary for hand-quilting, is becoming increasingly difficult to come by. It's great that you have it on hand!.
