One of these has been in my possession for quite some time. I mostly use the metal part of the thimble to push the needle through, but it does go through the silicone part on occasion; I haven't been stabbed, and my thimble's silicone has no holes or marks. However, I'm not sure how long the silicone part would last if you used it all the time.
The sm/med/lg system is fairly straightforward. It also depends on which of your fingers you use. What is the size of your gloves? If you're wearing a medium, you'll want to keep this in mind. If you're looking for a medium thimble, you're probably in good shape. Keep in mind that the thimble's body is silicone, making it fairly flexible, similar to a knit glove.
I chose a size based on my general glove size, but because the thimble's body is flexible silicone, there is some room for error. Gloves are mostly sold in sm, med, and large sizes nowadays. Because I wear a size lg glove, I bought a size lg thimble, which fits perfectly.
Yes. It can be adjusted to fit any size.

When I'm knitting, this has been a lifesaver. My index finger was putting a lot of pressure on the knitting needle tip, and it was causing me a lot of pain. I came across this strangely shaped thimble and decided to give it a try. I'm glad I took the chance. I wrap it around the first joint of my index finger and it perfectly protects me while still allowing me to use my finger tip to hold and move my yarn. It does not obstruct my finger's movement. This is an ingenious idea. Get it if it sounds like something that would be useful to you. You will not be dissatisfied with your purchase.
It fits a little snugly, but the medium I purchased is also too big. I believe it has more to do with the fact that silicone isn't a particularly breathable material, as well as the fact that I'm not used to wearing thimbles on the tips of my fingers. br>br>The package arrived damaged and without the plastic that was supposed to be included. I couldn't find any in the shipping envelope, so it seems to have happened before it was sent. br>There is no damage to the item itself. The packaging for the Medium I purchased is in perfect condition.
Good for hand piecing; I finally found something that worked for me and didn't put too much pressure on my middle finger when hand sewing.
It's comfortable and easy to adjust for all finger sizes.
This works well for me because I have fat fingers. It took some getting used to. But it suits me just fine.
This adjustable thimble is perfect for me because it doesn't cover my fingernails. I can wear it on one of my fingers or my thumb. It's simple to change the settings.
For the job, it's perfect! It's adjustable, but it's a little uncomfortable to wear for more than 30 minutes, so I wish it came in a larger size. It prevented significant damage to my hand. This is a must-have tool for difficult hand-sewing projects, such as e. Dolls' costumes, teddy bears, upholstery, and home décor are all available! You'll never want to live without it once you've tried it.
I like how this can be adjusted to fit almost any part of your finger. It's comfortable, stays put for the most part, and prevents my finger from being stabbed while hand sewing. It almost makes me wish it was a little wider to cover more surface area, but it does the job and is very affordable.
