Questions & Answers

Is there a difference in fabric weights between Steam a Seam, Steam a Seam 2, and Steam a Seam 2 Lite? What is the difference between all three types of sewing machines?

A steam-powered machine For appliques, I love seam 2 lite because it is less dense and lighter than standard seams. A steam-powered machine As soon as you heat the seam 2, it becomes considerably stiffer. Due to the fact that I only work with cotton fabrics, perhaps heavier weight fabrics will result in a stiffer finished product.

When this product is washed and dried, does it hold up well?

While I used quilt soap to wash my quilt in cold water, I have had no problem. This quilt is in good condition since it was dried in cool temperatures. Using the new product in applique has become easier due to its ease of use. In order to secure individual appliqués to the quilt block, I sew around them. When sewing around appliques, I still have a hard time getting glue off the sewing needle. My favorite steam engine is Steam - This seam product is better than the others on the market so There seems to be glue on the sewing machine needle, and the needle needs to be cleaned

kind of backing does this have? Are there two sides or one? Would you describe the paper as wax paper or like I appreciate it! Would you like to compare HNBL with the one I use for appliques?

Both sides of the paper are backed with paper. has a paper-like feel and doesn't have a waxy feel to it All the fuses I've tried work best for me, and this is the best.

In the 8th week of April Those new steam a seams in 2014, how do you like them? A terrible remake of it was made last time! ?

After being disappointed by the remake, I switched to Soft Fuse, and now I'm satisfied with that as well! The Steam a Seam sequel is even better than the original!

Like crazy, I was gummed up! It states on the package, "Does not gum up needles
3/5

". I have read great reviews on this product. As soon as I ironed down my applique, I started to zig zag the edges even though it said not to. This is a good way to make sure it will last and look good when it is done. I had stitched less than an inch when my thread frayed and my stitches started skipping. It was difficult for me to sharpen my needle because it was The online comments I read online pointed out that some people had problems and they didn't steam enough or iron long enough, even though the directions said to do so for I used a firmly pressed cloth and lots of steam and timed myself over each section for at least 30 seconds. Continuing to have the same problem without any Contacted the company by email. Calling the company was next. The customer service was good. She told me that it requires a lot of steam and time. Use of the pressing cloth prevents I had the same problem the After talking to the customer service department, she learned that she will have to speak with someone else at It took me a week to iron, wet, and steam my appliques. Each one had to be done Through email customer service, it was suggested to stick a pin through the applique to make sure it wasn't sticky. There was never an end to it! The applique on this garment was a motif from fabric that could not be replaced. To make matters worse, this garment was for a customer. There was a creek up ahead of me. As I had already stitched the edges left rough from taking the stitching out. I could not zig zag 1 inch at a time. The only saving grace was that this was going to be After using Scribbles 3D fabric paint to cover up the uneven stitching and seal the edges of each applique, I ended up using a cream color to cover up the edges. Honestly, I am not sure what I would have done if this were a quilt that was going to be washed and used. The Misty Fuse team is coming back to me.

- Product works well It's not that sticky side is backward, it's that the sticky side goes down! The adhesive works great for applique and binds extremely well once ironed on
3/5

It would be helpful if the instructions were included in the package. As soon as I applied it to the fabric it failed to stick! I had to use an iron to make it I ironed it again after that to make it adhere to the project. This worked, although it didn't say all that was required. Yes, they direct you to the website. That's fine. However, I found that on every single "light" version, the sticky parts are on the back of the back paper piece and not on the back of the grid tab. As a result, you enter your information in the grid, but Seeing that happened was so disappointing to me. The issue was that I had to rewrite my information on each piece and cut it out twice because the shape was on the grid side. I also did not exactly cut it out due to an oversight on how the sticky place was placed Make a copy of it on fabric, then cut it out again. Due to the way the back of the book is laid out, the back side is a bit difficult to see. The picture was too bright for me to see, so I had to put myself under the bright light. In addition to that, it also means your design comes out backwards, so you need to take that into account! It's a real pity it happened like that. The steam-a-seam package I bought for regular use has yet to be opened.

Applique projects are great with this material, but applying it is a bit tricky
5/5

Applique projects are a great use for this product. Grids are available on one side so that tracing or drawing can be done. In light boxes, especially, it is very easy to see through when a pattern is placed over it. Because the sticky layer tends to stick to the backing, it can be difficult to separate the backing from the grid side to place on the fabric. You may have to peel a small part of the corner open to check which side is sticky, and to manipulate the film, you can use your fingernail or a needle point to scratch and lift the corner so you can flip it over to the side of the paper you need it. Before peeling back the whole backing, ensure that the sticky film is all the way down to the drawing side with your fingernail. Before this works perfectly for you, you may have to practice. I traced my pattern on the non-stick surface if I find the sticky film always sticks to one side when I trace it The grid side should be used I don't like reassembling the pieces, but when the pieces stick so well, it's worth it. You don't want the glue to lose its effectiveness by overheating it.

For designing appliques on lightweight fabrics like cotton, this is the best product
5/5

Warm Co. went bankrupt in 1883. A Steam-based project has been started Again, Seam 2 increased the usability of their excellent product a few steps further they added grid lines to the cover sheets so it was even easier to apply and cut. I have found this product to work a lot more effectively than the "other" brand, and I don't even have to iron it to the back of the fabric as I usually do. The adhesive is strong enough to hold the fabric to the background, making it easy to peel and stick You need to adjust the shape until you have it just There is a Steam version of this product Designed for use on lighter fabrics, Seam 2 Light is intended for use on seams and hems. In other words, it allows the quilt to be flexible and not stiff once it is finished. A stiffer finished product can be obtained by using the regular Steam-Dry The second seam is next. There is no obvious difference between a 2 and a 3 in the specification. The 3 means that the interfacing is sticky and fusible on both sides. When you just want to add body to your project, you can purchase regular Steam-based sets We need seams. If you need to adhere the layers together, be sure to use plenty of steam. What is going on? The best method is to use steam rather than a damp press cloth.

My husband and I are so happy we found this product
5/5

We purchased it knowing it would meet our needs. The summer camp shirt I bought for my kid was completely too Despite its ragged appearance, it gave him the look of a wanderer. A few shirts were left over at the camp, but none of them were able to be distributed. A plain version of the camp shirt was purchased, and the existing camp shirt was cut up to remove the picture on the front. The idea was essentially to stitch together the very large logo on the old shirt and Steam-powered elements to make a large "patch" Attach it to a shirt with the right size. I was able to successfully attach the old shirt remnant to the new shirt, and it looks great (like I said). In spite of several washes, the shirt still looks great. There is no sign of fraying at all. Cotton was the fabric of the shirts.

Let me know when you get It has two stickiness modes, double stick and single stick, so I tried one sheet of Steam A Seam 2 Lite Double Stick Fusible Web and it did not work
3/5

Checking the instructions on YouTube was even part of the process. Due to the fact that it fails to work in the way described, I assume it is defective. In all the times I've used fuses, I've never had this problem with transferring the fuse In some cases, you might think that the problem is with the product, but in this case, it is with the user.

Compared to buying from a store, it's not a good idea
3/5

Due to creases and bubbles, the packaging was folded in half and placed in a shipping envelope. The backing had become separated from each side. As evidenced by this condition, I assume that the product is very old. It was not worth the cost for some of the sheets to be unusable.
