I'm a seamstress, and these scissors aren't exactly what I'd use on most fabrics, but they'd DEFINITELY cut through felt because they're so heavy. They're exceptionally well-made. Get them!
I'm not left-handed, but I had no problems cutting with them in my left hand; hopefully this helps.
Get yourself some Loc- (NOT the red!) Tite Blue ), unscrew the nut or screw, and dab a small amount of grease onto the threads. Tighten them to your desired tightness, and they'll stay that way until the blades have worn down to the point where you need to give them another 1/4 turn or so. The Blue formula will loosen it up, but the Red Loc- The bolt or screw will usually break if the tite is not adjusted with heat. This item is available on Amazon, Home Depot, and any auto parts or hardware store. It's useful to keep on hand.
They're perfect for me because I'm right-handed. They weren't advertised as being for left-handed people. These scissors are absolutely fantastic.

I was fed up with cheap dollar store scissors breaking their handles, so I spent a little more money on these. I'm so glad I took the chance! The copper has a lovely, rustic "brushed" look to it. I'm thinking about getting some matching desktop office supplies as well. They have a significant amount of weight. a long-lasting impression If they become dull, I'll sharpen them, but they came sharp! My unbiased review was not compensated in any way. They cut through thick plastic and cardboard like butter because they are so sharp. They are made of solid metal and are held together by metal screws and bolts. It's been buffed to a mirror-like finish. These scissors were purchased three times more. My mother has had a pair of Westcott scissors since she married over 50 years ago, and they are still in excellent condition. She hasn't needed to sharpen them in a long time. Every room in my house needs to have scissors. I really like these scissors.
These are sturdy, well-made scissors that appear to last a long time and can be sharpened multiple times. Two sides are down. br>br> br>br>For starters, they're heavy-duty scissors; while I'm fine with them, I can see how someone with diminished strength, arthritis, or other wrist, hand, or finger issues might struggle. Second, the thumb and finger openings are on the small side; I have large hands for a woman, so many people will think they're perfect, but they wouldn't be usable if they were any smaller. br>br>Overall, I'm pleased with the scissors, but I wanted to make a list of potential problems for others.
They're fantastic. I bought two pairs and am happy with them. They are sturdy steel scissors that can be dismantled and sharpened, just like the ones I used to have. In the hand, it has a good heft, but it is a little too heavy. The copper plating (I assume plating due to the price) is clear coated to prevent fading and patina. There will no longer be any scissors that are thrown away. These will most likely be my final pair of scissors. I am very happy with my purchase. A comment on the handle was made by a few reviewers. There are a few small spots where the clear coat has shifted slightly, presumably due to scissor movement, but this does not detract from the scissor's great look or quality, and I am a perfectionist, so I would buy these again if I needed scissors. It reminds me of the seamstress scissors that belonged to my grandmother. Because they are quite sharp, they should not be used in children's crafts.
These scissors are, without a doubt, one of the best I've ever owned. I'm an interior designer, so I'm constantly cutting fabrics, opening boxes, cutting through wire/silk flowers and toothpicks, slicing up carpet samples, and so on. These scissors have handled everything I've thrown at them with ease, including cutting through 32 oz carpets. They work great as fabric shears or box cutters and are a perfect fit for my hands. They're also extremely durable and attractive. We ordered a pair for everyone after everyone at the office kept asking to borrow my scissors, and they've been a big hit.
I like how sharp these are, but use them with caution because I cut my finger the first time I used them. They're also quite heavy, so keep scrolling if you're looking for a pair of lightweight scissors. However, if you're looking for a pair of heavy-duty scissors that can cut through just about anything, these are the ones to get!.
BUT. The color and weight of the scissors are both appealing to me. However, the first pair had to be returned due to a defect; they fell apart last week and cut my finger! No tool in the house can tighten the screw and nut that holds them together. They go with the rest of my desk decor, but they're not very practical. Due to the fact that my finger is still healing, I'm using a pair of Fiskars that are as old as dirt but still work.
