Scotch Precision Ultra Edge Scissors, 8 Inch, 3-Pack (1458-3AMZ-ESF)

These scissors are great at cutting through paper, but they struggle with everything else. I won't be able to use them as a 'go-to' source of information. I was going to use scissors, as I had planned. Thread requires a few snips, trimming band aids into custom shapes requires effort because the blades fold rather than cut the fabric, and getting through packing tape is a challenge. My cheap folding scissors, which have an inch-long blade, aren't up to the task. I'll be looking for something else because long blades are more versatile than this set.

Just keep your expectations in check, and you'll most likely be pleasantly surprised. On cloth, they're probably not very useful; on the other hand, on paper, light- They work great with medium cardboard, light plastics, packaging tape, wrapping paper, and so on. Having a color-coded system is convenient. Because you can distribute them throughout the house, you'll have a better chance of remembering where they are (or should be) if you use a coded set. They operate smoothly and efficiently cut paper. When asked if they could be washed in the dishwasher, one person responded: That is something I would never do. Clean them with Windex and a cloth if necessary. In the long run, a dab of oil on the joint may be beneficial. This is a "trick" that many people are unaware of- is that, before you blame your scissors for becoming dull over time, take a close look at the blades. If you use these to cut packing tape on a regular basis, the glue from the tape can migrate to the blades and cause them to lose their cutting ability. It's now time to clean them up. Hot water, along with a cloth, or even an old electric toothbrush head connected to your electric toothbrush, can help them come back to life and regain a lot of their sharpness. I've experimented with a variety of scissors in the hopes of finding some that will stay sharp for daily use. This is the third time I've bought this. After reading the reviews, I decided to buy a pack in September. It was difficult, if not impossible, to find reviews from unhappy buyers among the product's more than 2,000 reviews. I would give these scissors 0 stars if I could, despite the fact that the majority of people give them 4 or 5 stars. Paper, ribbon, bags, tape, and fabric are not cut by these machines. Lantana ground cover is the only thing they cut. I now use them for gardening, and I'm still looking for a good pair of everyday scissors that will stay sharp—what a concept!.

I had high hopes for finding three good pairs of scissors for a reasonable price, but all but one pair have ended up in the trash after two years. The scissors perform admirably for light-duty tasks right out of the box - Cutting single sheets of paper, etc. All of the scissors had become a little loose after a year of use, so any cutting required applying inward pressure to the handles while cutting. Because the scissors are held together by cheap rivets rather than screws, there is no way to tighten them when they become loose. Then the colored plastic plugs that had been covering the rivets started to fall out. They eventually lose their ability to cut at all. These will suffice if you only need disposable scissors for a short period of time or for a special occasion, but don't expect them to last more than a year or two.

Scotch scissors have left a lasting impression on me. The scissors are razor-sharp, and as they cut, they make a satisfying crunch. It's pleasant to hold them. I like how the three scissors in this set have different colored handles so I can color code how I use them. I'll use one for fabrics (I do a lot of fiber arts), one for paper projects (paper dulls scissors faster than fabric), and one for cutting shipping tape (the glue from the tape sticks to the blades, so they eventually stop cutting well). The titanium scissor blades are black in color (as opposed to the silver of stainless steel scissors). br>br>I've attached four images to this review that I'll be referring to. br>Photo No. 1: In shipping, the scissors were carefully packaged and separated from one another. br>Photo No. 2: The scissors have a soft plastic handle that makes them very comfortable to hold. The handles are made of a softer material than the two others. They're heavy enough to handle heavy-duty cutting but not so much that I get tired of using them. br>br>Overall, the scissors outperform the rest of the field.
