There's nothing wrong with this bias tape maker; it's just difficult to figure out what size you'll need if you've never made bias tape before. This was supposed to come with 1/2" double fold tape, but it didn't. It uses 1" strips and can be folded in either a 1/2" or 1/4" double fold. I believe the included chart is confusing; I had to look it up on the internet to figure out what it meant, and I should have done so before ordering. I'll need to get a 1" bias tape maker because I want 1/2" double fold from 2" strips. I gave it a try and it worked fine; however, I won't be using it very often.
I'm a beginner sewer who had never made bias tape before. When I first saw this tool, I thought it was fantastic if it actually worked. While I was waiting for this to arrive in the mail, I decided to make my own. Making your own bias tape isn't difficult, but using this tool makes it so much easier. Using this tool, I was able to cut my time in half. My bias tape always came out perfect, and it's a very sturdy and well-made product. I'm sure I'll need the other sizes in the future. Clover is a good brand, and cutting the end of the material at an angle makes it slide in easier.
Making the ties is so much easier and faster now that I have a bias tape maker! I've already purchased two more in various sizes and am looking forward to using them on a variety of sewing projects. Clover makes dependable, high-quality sewing tools.
I'm a beginner sewer who has had to make bias tape for children's clothing on several occasions. In the past, I had to go through the painstaking process of measuring and cutting it out. It was never quite straight enough, and going over it again to iron it all out only added to the monotony. I've only used this gadget once, but I think the time saved and added convenience were well worth the money, and I can only imagine how much more time it will save over time. I'm planning on using it to break into some of my odd scraps to make extra patterned bias tape to keep on hand for future odd projects. If you're new to bias tape, this article explains how it works and how to make it in several different ways:.
It's arrived now that I'm not even sure I need it. I placed my order in early April. Now, on the 25th of August, I have it.
It's fantastic that I can make my own bias tape in any pattern I want.
Making custom bias tape is a simple process. Buying it is also a lot more expensive. br>The tape comes out in a tidy manner.
