The product works really well. If you have never used anything like this before, go slow and be patient. In my example, I'll use Strips cut on the wrong side of the fabric, not on the bias, are 2". You must cut a 45 degree angle at the end of the With the iron heated, place the strip of fabric and maker on the ironing board. Make use of the awl to thread the pointed end of the fabric into the maker. You should be able to pull out about 6 You will see how your tape is taking shape once you reach 8". Take the handle and press it. For this project, I do not cut the fabric on the bias. (I wish this maker had been available You may remember that when we started making the masks, we couldn't find elastic for the ears and had to sew ties on instead.
The process of making bias binding is quite laborious. The folding and ironing of the binding tape takes forever, and I was burning myself with the steam iron all the time. By using this tool, I didn't have to iron the strips that are already creased by the tool, and it saved me great amounts of time. The presser foot has yet to be tried, but I am hoping it will cut down my sewing time, too.
The search for bias tape that matches a project or offsets it can be a challenge. You can make your own so it is simpler. A kit like this is perfect for learning how to do this.
