Questions & Answers

Does this stick well enough when held temporarily to vinyl window fabric to hold sunbrella?

Before sewing, this is just for holding two pieces of fabric, a zipper, or vinyl temporarily in place. The sunbrella would not hold up if you were to hold it to window fabric and then hang it.

The tape is sticky on both sides, isn't it?

The answer is yes. One side has paper that needs to be peeled off.

How do you wash it out? Do you need soap?

In my case, I didn't need soap at all. A warm water bath was used

Does this stick well enough when held temporarily to vinyl window fabric to hold sunbrella?

There isn't a lot of stickiness. When I embroider on fabric, I use this to hold the fabric in place. As long as you keep the layers flat and use clips or pins to secure them, it might work.

Despite its drawbacks, it works well
3/5

An item like this is perfect for tying a hem or other similar things. There is a heavy plastic backing to this double-sided tape. Taking a bit from the spool, you unroll it and press it into place and unrolling gradually Since the plastic backing stays attached to the outside of the tape, it's more likely not to randomly stick to anything and everything or collect lots of lint or fuzz, diminishing As soon as you have gone all the way around, make sure to firmly press your fingernail against one end In this way, the backing will separate from the tape easily leaving the tape on the fabric, and the two can be temporarily stuck together, making it easier to stitch the 2 layers together. It is worth noting that this does not stretch, so you will need to wash it before you can wear it over your head, for example, if you are going to put a neckband in place before stitching it. There is no residue left behind when this tape is washed in the washing machine. This has worked very well for me in the past, so you know it is very good. In spite of this, and this is an important consideration There's a smell about this tape that is very unpleasant. I put it outside on the porch (under a roof, right next to the house) and let it air out for a week for the odor to disperse. There was a problem with the odor which I deducted 2 stars for. Even so, I will try to keep buying it and storing it on my back porch until the smell of it disappears.

I don't know

This is a tape I use all the time. Normally I buy it at Joann's with a coupon, but since this is in bulk and such a good price, I thought I would take a look at this. The product does work as intended but is not as sticky as Joann's. If you do not keep it in a Ziploc bag, it dries out further making it not sticky at all. I will use the rest of it but will not reorder due.

This is an awesome This is an awesome I find this to be very Just before you sew the zipper to a bag, this is ideal for setting the zipper

In the past, I've never had an issue with the tape getting dirty or my sewing needle getting dirty. This is something that I would recommend I noticed that there was a slight smell when I first received the tape, but it went away after a while when I left it on my sewing table.

It would be helpful if there were some instructions in the package
4/5

The insertion of zippers in my sewing is one of the reasons I purchased this. Having found that the first roll of tape that I am using is not sticky enough to hold the zipper in place, I would like to know how to apply it properly so that I can move my project from the ironing board to the sewing machine. One particular set of instructions I am looking for consists of #1 ways to apply tape (Do I simply press it in place with my fingers or do I use heat to adhere it? in optimum condition? #3) Application uses (Especially useful for holding items in clothing and craft construction that need to be meticulously located without the use of )
Some examples Zipper application, hem placement (especially when sewing with knits), binding sleeves and necklines and self-binding sleeves and necklines
#4 This is a “wash off” adhesive. It is made for sewing machine use and won't gum up the needles. The gel can be used with knits to prevent puckering in the hems and other areas that tend to stretch when you sew them. Since I have only used this for zipper applications and self-binding sleeves and neck binding, I need to study up on additional applications. that once I get a little deeper into the roll of tape, the adhesive will stick a little more strongly.

There is an inconsistent level of adhesion

A GOOD THING The four rolls I received were clean and packed in a zip-lock bag Packaging made of plastic that does not smell (China-made tape). This is bad It was decided to discard the first yard or so of tape since it didn't have stickiness. When my fabric started to slip and I noticed that some of the tape was not as sticky (I was using it on a quilt) the next few yards were OK. I have finished reading the first roll of paper, and I have estimated that I have thrown out 1/4 of it. Like the first roll, the second one has gotten off to a great start (more than a yard with no A OVERALL VIEW The price for four rolls was cheap in the end. The tapes I use are so thin that I have to check them as I work, and retape them. I won't purchase this item from this seller in the future, and I would not recommend this product from this seller.

It's not all that great
3/5

Useable but not top notch. The double-sided tape does not hold up as well as other types of tape Tape for sewing that has two sides. Having plans to sew over it is fine if you are immediately going to do so. This effect lasts for only a few seconds. In addition, a lot of tape was wasted because some of the outside layers of tape were distorted during shipping/handling.

The tailor did not quite order what she had in mind

The update is It is not the first time I have purchased this item (the second before I ran out) yet, for some reason, all three last rolls I have used have been wound incorrectly halfway through. Having purchased four rolls of cardboard, we have already used two of the four rolls, and now we have the first four from I will explain a little more When the tacky is wound correctly on the outer half of the roll, which means the tacky is down, you apply it and then remove the protective strip so that the second piece can be adhered. Suddenly, it turns out to be In this case, there will be a space where there is no tape. Tape will then be placed on top so that tacky side is Although I will finish the package with my sticky fingers, I will look for a new seller as I will definitely not be doing business with this seller again. As I've been working with materials that are motion-filled, I learned that movement is also the key to making images. I used the even feed walking foot on the sewing machine a lot, but the wash away quilting tape was the defining feature. My pin usage is almost nonexistent these days. Once I am done, I tape everything and throw it in the washer.
