Questions & Answers
Although this is a fabric adhesive, it is extremely sticky. It can also be used with scroll rods. All you have to do is look at the front of the package to see what it says.
In this case, you're purchasing a roll of soft velcro, which you apply to the top and bottom (or both sides) of your fabric. The scroll rod isn't included in the package. That ought to be yours already!
There aren't any; Velcro is used on both of them. It was difficult for me to locate 3/8 inch tape in the store and be confident that the sticky stuff would hold up. I can attest to the fact that this tape holds up well after several uses.
I glued the Velcro to the rods; you'll need both the rod and fabric Velcro. Instead of putting it on the split, twist your rod a little. Measure and cut the Velcro for the rods, leaving about a half-inch on both sides, glue the side that will be on the rod, and stick it on the rod. Let dry. If you have a large number of rods, I use that space to write the rod measurement. I hope that this information is useful. Best wishes to you.

The entire American Dream set has me smitten. Because their scroll frames use a hook and loop system, I have to replace half of the tape every now and then as I finish projects, but this happens infrequently, and the tape is inexpensive when I do. br>br>I was mostly concerned with the glue's ability to hold onto the frame and fabric despite the tension applied to it, as well as its ability to peel away from the fabric. It does both, but I've started cutting my fabric a little bigger than I need it to be and then cutting the tape away when I'm finished. The tape does not appear to be very re-usable in my opinion. It's better to just buy new when you've used it all up, because once you peel it off the fabric, a lot of dust and fibre will be stuck to it, weakening its grip on the next project.
This new method of attaching the material to my scrolls had me extremely skeptical. I had previously experimented with the split rod system and found it to be ineffective. It was too difficult to make everything even, and if you couldn't wrap it around a few times, it would slip. But I was working on a project and one of the rods had a small crack in it, and the threaded part kept coming out, and I couldn't tighten it, and the only thing I could find were these new fangled Velcro things. Velcro, I mean. Well, I got it, and by golly, it's fantastic. The piece I'm working on is wide but not long, and the six side bars are almost too long, but it holds together and works well. When attaching the material, I discovered that you must be extremely careful to keep it straight. It pulled and wouldn't lay straight because I was about a 1/16th of an inch off on one side. But I was able to remove it and re-attach it. do it. This system appears to be one that I will enjoy. Oh, and it arrived just a few days after I placed my order.
The scroll rods work well, but I found that lacing the open ends to the frame's side boards was necessary to maintain tension as I worked. The tape is also very good, but you should be aware that you must order BOTH the 3/8 and 5/8 rolls. They're also only $9 each. 00 each! I've purchased a lot of Velcro for sewing projects, and it always arrives with both sides attached. This is not the case. Furthermore, both packages only include instructions for 3/8" tape, leaving you to figure out which goes on the rods and which goes on the canvas.
I'm going to be able to carefully pull it right off on my current project because the fabric tape isn't sticking to the actual fabric (they make it sound like it'll turn into a permanent bond and I'm using a soft aida fabric) and that was disappointing, despite the fact that I was still able to pull my project tight and cross stitch just fine. Knowing there's a chance it might detach makes me nervous. However, you will need it to connect to the scroll portion of the system, so I strongly advise purchasing it.
I've been using this product to secure a needlepoint canvas to a scroll frame for a long time. Allows the canvas to be pulled extremely taut for more consistent stitching. In needlepoint, this is extremely important! I'm very happy with the product and will purchase it from this seller again.
This product is so much easier to use than seeing each side in and then tearing each side out every time you want to switch out a project. It works in a similar way to Velcro, making it simple to replace a project gently in 5 seconds with no sewing required. This product is one of my favorites!!.
Starting a project has been made easier by using the tapes, one for the fabric and one for the frame, as well as stretching the fabric to ensure tightness is smooth and flowing.
The American Dream Products no-baste scroll rod system is by far the best and easiest system I've ever used for keeping canvas or fabric stretched. I'm constantly purchasing new fabric tape in order to add another project to my bars. I strongly advise all stitchers, new and old, to use this system. It's simple, quick, and simple to use, and I don't take more than 5 minutes to prepare a new project for stitching. Even better, the fabric tape stays on the project cloth when I need to put it away for a while. When I'm ready to stitch again, I simply reattach the project to the scroll rods. br>br>A truly brilliant concept!.
