Questions & Answers

To make 1/2" double fold bias tape, what size should I use? If you would. ?

You would use a 1 inch bias maker if you wanted a 1/2 inch strip of bias tape. The bias maker would have to be increased to a 2 inch bias maker if you wanted the bias strip folded again and turned into a 1/2 folded strip. To do this, you would have a strip of bias tape 1 inch long and fold it Thank you for reading, I hope you found it helpful.

Is 1" referring to the bias width of the input or the bias width of the output?

This width indicates how wide the output will be. This is the folded piece that you will attach to your project, raw edges folded under are not included. It is Michelle

This tip can be used on Simplicity Bias tape makers, right?

Additionally, I did not use it with any other All I did was use it on its own and it worked fine. A couple of pretty biases were made.

Does a quilting machine or other device need to be used with this Bias Tape Machine Quilt Binding Tip 7/8"?

It is not necessary to have a machine to use the simplicity bias tape quilting tip, but other than that I would get the clover one as opposed to the simplicity one.

If this is your first time reading my instructions, you will benefit from this excellent product

Does exactly what it says on the tin. To make a 1/2 inch binder, you get a 1 inch bias tape that you fold in half. A 2" strip of fabric is all it takes. It is important to feed it through with a V shape cut at the front of the strip before pushing it through. To push the fabric out of the end of the tape maker, you will need a thin and flat metal thing to grab the fabric through the narrow slit. In ironing 1/2" seams, I used a metal 1/2 inch seam guide as an ironing guide. Hence, I think all these bias tape makers should use something similar as using a sharp needle doesn't work as well as it pokes more than it catches. If you manage to get your first perfect 1" tape, you'll be hooked for life. As this is my first time using one, I have no idea why I haven't used one earlier. It is a pleasure to use this Clover product.

If you get the hang of it, you'll be done in no time

It took a long time for me to finish my first batch of tapes. My second batch showed me that I had cut the strips much too narrowly, and that there was an easier way if the strips were 1 inch wide. It is 5 inches from the ground. With a little practice, I was able to quickly make a lot of binding tape. The stores were sold out of tape because of COVID, so I used it to make the ties on cloth masks The pandemic of 19 is underway.

Perhaps I will be able to get one that is larger
4/5

The four stars indicate it is of a higher quality than "OK", although I would not say it is amazing. Since I never had a bias strip cutter before, I had to fold my bias strips manually, which was time consuming and a bit tedious. I could use an inch-long ruler because of the information I gained from it The folds need to be straight and even, so put a wide strip of heavy paper on the folds. Having used this product a few times now, I have notice a few glitches - I have run into a few threads without adhering to the fabric securely By reverting to my inch-a-half, I was able to fix some of them Paper strip with a wide width -- A little bit of progress, but not really. Two of the issues I have with the device that can be problematic are described below. The seams are the first thing to look at. Sewing two things at the same time Stack fabric strips together end to end to create a half-moon shape If you're using a half-inch bias tape, the first step is to iron its edges, fold it in half, and then iron it again. To make bias tape, you just have to follow these steps. My first step is to iron open all seams in the strip, so when the tape is finished it will be less bulky around the seams. It is an open-ended device that dislikes open seams since it has to insert the end of the strip into this device first As a result, they tend to clump together. To keep your blouse looking neat, all seams should be pressed away from the direction you are pulling. As a result, the seams between two pieces of fabric have more bulk than necessary. The issue might not be as severe with long strips of the same color, but if the effect you are creating is a patchwork of many short pieces of color, there can certainly be problems. It is important to note that this method works best with fabric of a certain weight. Among the various fabrics in my tape, not all are the same weight, since I use a variety of colors. Generally, if the fabric is too thick, it cannot be pulled through the device easily. If it is too thin, the fabric can be too relaxed and may twist in on itself halfway through, resulting in a gnarled problem. The problem can possibly be fixed by backing up into an already completed section (if you don't run into a seam, that is) and ironing out (with a little spray starch) the part that was messed up and retrying it At some point, it might just be necessary to straighten out the uneven spot by hand The old inch system is still being used. It would be useful to have a broad strip of heavy paper on hand. There is perhaps a third issue, but this device is limited to the specifications for which it was designed - namely, that of measuring one type of item versus another. As such, if you wanted your bias tape to be five-eights of an inch instead of half an inch, you'd still need to do it It is possible to purchase these in other sizes, but there is a limit to your creativity if you design an item with nonstandard measures.

The Results Were Excellent The tool is extremely easy to use! The purchase was a great decision for me
5/5

Bias tape of 1/2 inch can be made with a tool with a 1 inch diameter. It is important to remember this. The bias tape maker you should purchase should be able to make 1 inch bias tape. You should also- If you have questions about how to make bias tape with this tool, you could look on YouTube. I'm relatively new to sewing, so I suggest you find some videos that show you how to do so. Designed every day. You can find tons of information on com! I found this to be very easy and it worked very well.

I love how easy it is to use this bias tape maker
5/5

There is nothing better than this little gadget In order to produce bias tape, the material strip is pressed, so that it can be easily pressed into a professional appearance. The iron should be kept near the opening of the bias tape maker so as to iron the folds into the strip as soon as it comes out. When you're pressing the folds down, the handle also helps you keep your fingers away from the hot iron. Thank you for letting me have it It only took me a few minutes to make a lot of different patterns of bias tape with it.

It may have been just that I fed it in a bit cockeyed, as all the ones I did after that were fine right away
5/5

I've used it more than once now and it makes the entire process The process of ironing back and forth three or four times is no longer necessary. You only need to do it once and you're done. The first tape I used came out a little wrinkled and wonky at first, but it smoothed out as soon as I walked a few feet. It's probably just a case of me starting it a bit too cockeyed as all the ones I did after were fine.

A size description that is inaccurate is not accurate to my opinion
3/5

We're not talking about bias tape that's one inch wide. The bias tape measures 1/2" wide by double-folded. There are some grammatical errors in this sentence. In other words, when you sew it to the edge of your fabric, you will see 1/2" of your However, it does not provide you with a 1-inch edge, which is the thing There's a problem with this item. I'm returning it.
