Both of my boxes were approximately 15 x 15 x 15 x 15 x 15 x 15 The kapok fill was compressed and well sealed in a 20-inch square plastic bag. I made one king-size and one standard-size pillow out of one full bag of kapok. I hope you find this information useful. br>Elizabeth Weir is a character in the novel Elizabeth Weir by Elizabeth Weir.
Our kapok fill is free of flame retardants and fumigation.
No pesticides or flame retardants are used in the production of this Organic Kapok.
I'm not sure what I'm talking about. It's just a big bag of kapok, as far as I can tell.

I decided to take a chance on the possibility of bits of random stuff in the mix, as well as a smell, after reading several reviews. There were hardly any random items in here, and there was no odor. It's lovely, bea. br>Warning: this is a potentially dangerous situation. When you start pulling the kapok out, there will be a lot of fine particles floating around, so put on a mask and safety glasses and go outside!! br>I made a pillow and found that I needed to add more kapok after a week because it flattens out quickly. If you're making a pillow, don't be afraid to cram as much kapok as you can into your casing. I fluffed it up well before pushing it into my pillow casing, so the original pillow appeared to be very full at first, but it flattened within a week, and you can't get it back to its original fluffiness by punching and shaking it. Overall, I enjoyed the product and would recommend it to others.
I'd never used kapok before, but I figured I'd give it a shot because I didn't want to be personally responsible for adding more petrochemical products to the environment or for killing geese. The softness and silkiness of kapok, as well as how well it works as pillow stuffing, astounded me. I needed a small pillow for my lower back, and this was the perfect fit. It's soft, fluffs up after use, and is made from organic materials, so there are no pesticides or herbicides. br>My only quibble is with the packaging. It's packaged in a plastic bag that's been compressed with a LOT of plastic tape. Taking the tape off ripped the bag in several places, allowing the kapok to spread throughout. I'd prefer if it came in a cloth or even a paper bag. I'm trying to cut down on my use of plastic, but getting into this was a pain. Apart from that, it's fantastic. Because it was packed down and fluffed up to be used, similar to down without the poor geese, the amount I ordered will easily make several pillows.
Like other reviews, it is very soft and lofty. A little debris, such as shredded paper, plastic chunks, seeds, and so on, but not enough to be a deterrent, and it's simple to sift out the stray chunks. After reading several tutorials online, I decided to make a zafu meditation pillow and purchased this fluffy stuff. br>br>My round pillow measures 9" tall x 13" wide. br>The 5lb stuffing supply would likely fill 4 or 5 meditation pillows.
I'd researched and found 100% organic Kapok fiber stuffing on Amazon and bought a 5 lb bag (just in case) because I'd need it. Very affordable, and I was pleasantly surprised at how simple it was to separate the fibers and stuff them into the inner muslin bag until the cushion was nicely stuffed. It was a piece of cake in comparison to the work I had to do to remove the bird feathers and clean the emply bag (which was old and dusty). I now have a lovely, firm cushion that doesn't fill up with down feathers every time I sit on it. I am not a professional seamstress and do not own a sewing machine, but I can sew a simple hem and own an old sewing kit. The Kaypok fiber had a clean, fresh scent to it as well. This is a fantastic discovery. Thank you very much!.
This was purchased for the purpose of making pillows for my granddaughter. Very silky and soft. I made her a small and a standard pillow, and I still have some left over. It has a significant impact. Because it was fluffy, I followed the advice of others who had bought it and had my little vacuum handy. I couldn't do it outside because it's currently too cold in my state. However, if you have access to a filling station outside, I would suggest doing so. As we try to use organic and clean items in our home, I'll be ordering more to make pillows for my husband and me. Without a doubt, this is a purchase well worth the money.
It feels like a cloud until you wash it, but then it softens up. I used some of the leftovers to make two standard pillows for my girls. There is a faint odor, but it is not detectable through the pillowcase. When I wash their pillows in the winter, which I'm sure you shouldn't, they knot up into tight balls that I have to rip apart after drying. In the summer, I'll air or sun-dry them. After using them again, they appear to soften. It works well to fluff them by putting them in the dryer.
When you pull it out, it expands like crazy, so I overestimated how much I needed by about a factor of 20. The kapoc was packaged in a well-sealed, tightly compressed plastic bag. I was able to re-stuff my pillow by hand, but make sure you open the bag outside because the little white fibers get everywhere and float around. This wasn't a major issue for me, and everything washed away easily in the washing machine. I am extremely pleased with my pillow; it is extremely soft and comfortable, and it provides the excellent support that I have come to expect from Kapoc. The kapoc did have a faint chemical odor, but it dissipated quickly and I didn't notice it at all while sleeping on my pillow.
The fiber is completely wrapped in tons of tape in the packaging, which is a little odd. I made two cushions, totaling seventeen. 5"x35". After opening the package, there appeared to be a lot of material, but I needed it all to fill the two cushions. The fact that it's made of natural materials appeals to me greatly. It performs similarly to polyester filling and thus isn't as comfortable as down or feather-filled cushions. However, I no longer purchase down/feather for both ethical (how they obtain the feathers of the poor animals is gruesome) and health reasons (mites!). As a result, kapok is a fantastic option.
