Questions & Answers
Because the pins are magnetic, they are made of some ferrous material that will rust after one hour in water. I used a file to remove the bright surface and placed the pin in a cup of water for 1 hour before clean. I removed the pin for one hour and let the filed down section sit for one hour. I noticed a discoloration on the filed down section. Despite its bright appearance, the surface was not discolored. The pin has a steel core and a nickel finish, which indicates that it's made of steel.
A star-shaped pin head adorns the heads of the pins.
Yellow and red are the colors of the butterfly pins.
Despite their heat resistance, Dritz Quilting Flat Flower Pins, #3010 are heat sensitive and will melt when heated.

The spools of thread are perfect for machine sewing. As they're quite long, and quite thin, I can pin things as I sew them without finding that they get in the way. As a result of the yellow tabs, these are easy to handle, and I can easily find them if I drop one! My guess is they'll bend over time/use, but I'll replace them if I do. They're quite fine, so I imagine I will bend them over time/use. It's a good price, they've got plenty of pins, I'm quite happy with it!.
chose a name brand rather than saving a few dollars on something else and it proved to be the right decision. The pins provide the stability I need for quilts made with up to six layers of fabric, which is exactly what I was after. Strong, sharp, and not prone to bending, they are perfect for cutting. These flowers have flat heads that make them easy to hold and they look cute in my handmade pincushion.
This is a wonderful quilting idea! Making quilts is my passion, and I have created my own system of numbers. It was impossible for me not to buy these when I saw the price. The quality is great and the idea of arrows pointing in directions is brilliant. A gift purchase was made.
There was so much drag on it, you'd think the things were dipped in acid etch after they were made. It isn't hyperbole to say that. These pins are the same ones I bought a few years ago, and I have only used them for sewing and quilting. I could not have asked for better pins than these (are). The loss of flower heads and irreparably bent flowers during the last year had reduced my stock to a pretty low level, so I wanted to plump it up a bit. My confidence built as I opened the new pack and piled the new ones on top of my old ones in their magnetic holders. I really made a mistake there. The ones I wasn't interested in I was able to separate simply by pinning something. In contrast, the old ones (still amazing sharp and smooth) quickly slid in without any problem, while the ones in this new pack grabbed like an emery board The needle on the board must be fast and accurate It would be nice, if you could imagine it. How come this is happening? It is not worth trying to return them for a few bucks, and I threw out the packaging material already, so I am mostly pissed off. Does this mean that I have to ask Joann Fabric to give me a box of these flower head pins to make sure Dritz isn't just producing them poorly?.
These caught my attention, so I ordered them. I took one out of the box as soon as they arrived, what I found was that it had a blunt end. These are only a few of the techniques I have used. The body is quite thin, being quite fragile considering how long it is. The main problem with the numbers is that they are printed on only one side. To figure out what row you are working on, you must continually turn them around. This is an inexpensive brand, so I recommend trying one from a different manufacturer.
Although I think these are a great idea, the pins are pretty thick in comparison to my preferred option. In addition to their length, they are quite thick, so I am certain they will sometimes prove useful while teaching someone to quilt. Their flat heads are also somewhat thick, much thicker than the flower head flat pins, rather similar to the thickness of yellow ball head pins but with flat faces.
Using these for quilting projects is a great idea. They worked well to mark rows on my quilt. Long enough to go through three layers of flannel or cotton, and I was able to go through batting as well.
This is a set of flat head pins I bought to use in my project. that these pins have excellent reviews on Amazon, but I noticed they were leaving large holes on my fabrics. I already own other Dritz pins which are also very nice. My other Dritz pins also have a shaft thickness similar to the one that I have, so I was thinking there may be a few pins or my fabric causing this. I am now attempting to use them again with better quality fabric, and I'm still having the same problem. As I'm past the return policy deadline, I won't be able to return anything.
