These Schmetz needles will fit any domestic sewing machine, but not a long arm sewing machine. I couldn't find a picture of your 701 online, but I did see an 801 and Schmetz needles fit that model.
I believe that all single needles are designed to work with all machines. Double needles, on the other hand, might be an issue.
These needles can still be found on eBay and other online retailers. However, if you're looking for alternatives, try the following: br>Q needles were a Kenmore term for needles that were used with the Q foot. A Microtex or an Organ or Schmetz knit needle can be used. When it comes to finishing a project, these needles have saved me a lot of time and aggravation; they truly make a difference. It took me a long time to figure out how to use the right needle for the right fabric. br>My sewing machine is a Brother-- They do, however, have a long list of machines that can make use of them.
