I looked at the packaging and there was no mention of a ball point pen. I apologize for not being able to assist you more. I haven't had the opportunity to try these needles yet, so I can't comment.
Hello, I'm not sure what model of machine you have, but it should fit if it's a serger.
Please accept my apologies; I have no idea. I was drawn to the brand and the fact that these were grooved serger needles.

After struggling with our serger's cover stitch, we discovered that only ELx705 needles can be used. Regular needles may work for the overlock stitch, but not very well, but they will not work for the cover stitch. The people who sold us the machine were extremely knowledgeable about the differences.
I got a five-pack of two size 75s in the mail. Three size 90s. I know it sounds petty, but as a professional seamstress, I find that the sizes determine the project's quality, which is dependent on the fabric used. It was only $7, so it wasn't worth the hassle of returning it, but I was annoyed enough that I just ran to Joannes to get the correct size.
My sewing projects are always a success when I use Schmetz needles. I've tried other needles that came with the threads I purchased, but they don't work as well.
These needles are for my new serger sewing machine, and I also sold my old serger, so I included a new pack with it. They're difficult to come by in the area.
I only use these needles with my sewing machine. They maintain their sharpness for a long time.
I've always used these needles, and they work well in my embroidery machine.
On my Baby Lock Ovation, these are the only needles I'll use.
