Questions & Answers

Do Stitch Witchery regular and the Super Stitch Witchery differ in any way?

It's the dense texture in the super that gives it more bonding power! The Regular Stitch Witchery creates more power in the bond, but the Super Stitch Witchery really nails the bond! Wool or any fabric that is heavier or more dense will bond to itself much better using Super Stitch Witchery on the other hand, silk or any lighter textile will bond to itself just fine using The actual bonding will take place when the iron is pressed. Do not underestimate the importance of this. Hence, please follow the instructions given on the wrapper's instruction panel. It means that, no matter what type of fuse tape you purchase, if you don't gauge your iron to a satisfactory temperature, the fuse tape won't melt well. You may end up with your project not being properly fused together as a result. Thanks for reading. I hope it's helpful.

Are jeans able to be treated with it?

Jeans do indeed work with it. As of yet, I have not put them through the washer to see if they hold up.

Does it take a lot of effort ?

As far as I can tell, it is relatively straightforward. I washed my clothes three or four times and have nothing to show for it Following a few drying cycles, this product's hem (which was what we used it for) started breaking down in some places. It was easy to peel it off and apply a new layer from there.

What are the safety concerns with this dryer? The curtains will have to be washed and dried at home if I plan to hem them with these. ?

The fabric in mine disintegrated after I washed it and dried it.

All it takes is the right My first attempt at applying the tape was a complete failure, but, once I realized how to do it, it was a breeze
5/5

I tore a piece, dipped it in water (you can also spray it with water, but dipping it in water was quicker). You can either spray the top of the fabric with a water sprayer or you can fold the fabric over the iron and spray the fabric with water. After you've done that, put the iron on top of it for approximately 5 to 10 seconds (depending on the fabric, it may be This is all there is to A lot of people stick to it. You might need to spray a little more water if it doesn't stick. This is what I did on burlap fabric and it turned out great.

That would have been great if I found it The tape is amazing, I have to say! It's time to put away the needles I'd like to hem my own clothes with thread! They are easy to follow and simple to The tape I have used to hem my shirts and pants never takes more than a few minutes to apply
5/5

You can hem and haw whatever you like You can turn the garment inside-out, lay it on your ironing board, and turn up the edge under Stitch Witchery tape in between the fabric layers. You can then press your iron with In many instances, the hemmed garments have not come undone even after being washed and dried. These are the kinds of things you will love! As a personal preference, I prefer the Super over the Regular because I find it bonds.

Working on shower curtains made of polyester
5/5

The reviews on here made all the difference! Without these two beautiful people's reviews, I would have given up! used the cellophane wrapping since I thought that was the product until it didn't work and I took a look A review mentioned the first few foot of the product was surrounded by cellophane to keep it from unravelling. I think it would be better if they put it on the packaging for people like me who don't Lol, I thought that maybe it wasn't meant to bond to 100% polyester, but in the product description it stated My cloth shower curtain is machine washable, so I used this to hem it. The stitch Witchery is designed to be soaked in water before placement and moistened with a damp press cloth. If you use this method you will see the difference instantly! Once that was done, it worked like a charm. Since I learned how to hem, I can do anything!.

It is time to remove the plastic wrap
5/5

The stuff is fantastic, easy to iron, and it shouldn't take you too long to iron it. Upon further inspection, I discovered that the first two feet of the roll were plastic wrap that would keep the real stuff from unravelling. It's difficult to get the plastic to stick to the wall after a long time. I can assure you that the Stitch Witchery sticks very quickly. As a result, half of the hem of my shirt was sewn with plastic wrapping and half with The following is a note to other newbies First, you need to unwrap a yard or so of plastic also hem your clothes with plastic. The concept of plastic wrapping has a negative connotation, while stitch witchery refers to a positive connotation. You don't want to sink to the dark side. I used it on a silky-feeling.

A top with a fixed brim! On the front left shoulder of the blouse I bought online, there was a tear and fraying of 1in on the seam
5/5

My plan was to return it to the online retailer, but after waiting for two days and not receiving a response from their customer service (to be fair, it was the weekend), I gave up, and decided to take on a different It doesn't take much for me to get excited about I love it. I found what I was looking for after reading a few tutorial blogs and watching some videos! The following 3 products are to be repaired. As a result, I figured it might be of use in the future. Although the company responded before the products arrived, I decided to continue working on my project in the hopes that I didn't make any mistakes. Stitch witchery, clear thread, sheer stabilizer, and a polyester thread in super thin size are what I ordered. To dry my cloth, I dampened it with a damp towel and pressed for 10 seconds using the wool setting on the iron. After that I stitched backwards. There was a problem I fixed! This was kind of dumb of me to have to fix a top that shouldn't have been damaged in the first place, but it's a casual and cute blouse I found on a boutique website and I thought it'd work out fine. Still attached and fixed to the tag! Once a quick steam has taken place, the clothes are ready to wear.

Using bonding was a great way to save money and was a much superior alternative to shelling
5/5

My job as a bridesmaid was to hem a dress in a hurry, so I stepped in as a bridesmaid last minute. Although I can sew on buttons, that's about the limit of my sewing experience. I also do not own a sewing machine. This bonding saved me a lot of money and was a good alternative to shelling out big bucks It took me just a few minutes to pin the dress to the correct length and iron it next to the inside of where I wanted the new hem to be. I was pretty pleased with how the dress and the hem maintained their shape throughout the entire wedding. As we were dancing in a long dress (and I am not exactly petite), a few steps on the dress did still occur on the dance floor, pulling at the weaker areas As long as I am going to wear the dress again, I would definitely find a better, more permanent solution. However, given the circumstance, I was very satisfied with the product's performance.

Although you have to know how to sew, it is still convenient
4/5

Several years ago I began using Stitch Witchery for both art projects and regular sewing, as well as for my Apart from crafting, I also use this tool to attach badges/patches to clothing, shorten curtains, and fix hems on People who don't want to deal with needles and thread can use this stuff to save their lives. With this method, I get the best results when I steam the iron on a very hot Besides using a damp cloth between the iron and the clothing I am fusing, I have also tried using a warm iron. The stitch witchery will start to fuse pretty quickly, but do not give up pressing! It is imperative that you use a very hot (melted) product to ensure you get a seal that will last through a laundry cycle. If you are afraid that your fabric will become scorched, you should definitely use a cloth as a buffer. If you need to make a very temporary emergency repair, put a tiny flame under it and heat it until it sticks. You can usually "peel apart" the fabric if you need to later. The only reason for my one star off is the fact that Stitch Witchery seems to make fabric Hemming could not matter on some items, but on flowy skirts and dresses I did not like the slight stiffness (it improves after washing the garment). If you are making curtains, tablecloths, or crafts, then.

No sewing required! Great for Using this on our homemade curtains is a great idea
5/5

The directions are simple and will not cause any problems. Follow them carefully and you will not have any problems. Creating a "no sew" curtain is a lot easier than you think it is. You should consider visiting some no sew curtain blogs.
