Questions & Answers
The Roxanne applique needle has a length of 1 and 5/16 inch. It's a little longer than a quilting needle in the size 10 range, but not quite as long as a straw needle. It's about the same length as a size 10 sharp, in my opinion.
No, I believe it is unlikely.
Although I don't piece by hand, these needles are a different size, as applique requires a finer needle. They are, without a doubt, of excellent quality.

I've been hand quilting for years and have never had a problem with Roxanne needles. Because those needles were sturdy and easy to work with, I chose Roxanne needles without hesitation when I decided to try hand appliqué. I'm not sure if I received a bad batch or if the manufacturing process and/or location have changed, but. These have a thread destroyer for an eye. That is, assuming you can thread them. Trying to thread them with my super duper presto bingo press the lever and lift out a fully threaded needle needle threader, I've bent a few. I threw away a couple that I had given up on. I even bought some old-school needle threaders to assist, but in the process of trying to thread them, I broke a couple of needles. The 50 wt thread hangs in your eye as you work if you can get the needle threaded. Only 100 wt silk threads smoothly and without snagging. The needles are otherwise in good condition-- They have a nice point that will easily slide through most fabrics. However, wasting thread while trying to get to the sewing part, as well as the frustration of having to take a 10-minute break to thread a needle, means these aren't worth it.
I adore the needle case - it's adorable! The needle's name and size are printed on the case itself. This is a fantastic set of needles.
These needles are fantastic! They are small, straight, and have well-made eyes. They're ideal for beaded embroidery, which I'm doing with them. I was overjoyed to find these on Amazon after seeing how bad Dritz needles were.
needles that are absolutely perfect.
Both the shaft and the point, which becomes barbed, bend easily. The thread was cut through by the sharp edges of the eyes. It was a huge let down. br>To be fair, I've had a lot of other Roxanne products that I've loved. It's possible that the needles were a fluke.
But. My tiny glass vial was shattered when it arrived. It was difficult to separate the needles from the shards. The needles, on the other hand, have found a new home in a discarded RX bottle.
I'm using Roxanne needles and Aurifil thread to applique my second Hawaiian quilt. I think the needles could be a little longer, but they make applique stitches a lot easier and faster.
Roxanne consistently delivers excellent results, and I have never been disappointed by her work.
