I've gotten them stuck on a few things, including a laminated book mark, and it took a long time to get them off.
I haven't tried them out on fabric yet. While the adhesive is extremely strong, I am concerned that it will fail over time, particularly if the item is washed and/or dried.
To provide a clear answer, the question is too vague and leaves far too many unknowns. br>br>Any answer is contingent on a number of factors, such as: What surfaces are both dots adhered to, is this for horizontal or vertical attachments, and what is the size and weight of the object(s) to be attached? br>br>The number of dots required for a secure attachment is determined by the size and weight of the item(s).
Unless you're talking about the carpet's BACK, it'll most likely depend on the pile thickness. Although the adhesive is fairly strong, depending on the size of the carpet piece, you may need several dots to meet your needs.

They don't seem to have a problem sticking with you and appear to be strong. They were ideal for the task at hand.
I'd say they're a little too strong for what you want to do with them, depending on what you want to do with them. I bought them to use as seals on file folder games' envelopes. My students can open them, but only with a lot of effort, and they've torn some of the non-laminated envelopes. This was not an issue for me with dollar store or Velcro brand dots. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but you should be aware of the situation.
They don't stick to each other very well. For the better part of a year and a half, I've had an 8 1/2 x 11 white board taped to the back of a door. I bought this brand because it was starting to fall down and I was trying to save money, so I applied six sets (12) at least five times since I got them. The darned white board just won't stay put. The stickers don't always stick to the door or the whiteboard when I go to pick it up.
My wife went through two packs of these in order to set up her classroom, and she used two of them. Each small laminated letter has three dots on it. Almost everything she had hung on the wall had come loose the next day. The dots remained stuck to the laminated sheet, but nothing remained on the eggshell-colored sheet. a wall with texture.
These Velcro dots are absolutely fantastic! I prefer them in sheet form rather than roll form because they stay nice and flat and don't tangle. These are extremely effective for me.
You need to grab an edge of the velcro dot to place these, but the glue on the back is so strong that it stuck to my fingers and I had to pull hard to get it off. My finger was in excruciating pain after applying 20 dots. I may have to use tweezers or something else to place these so that the glue does not come into contact with my skin.
When it's cold outside, it doesn't seem to work as well. They clung to the item I was using to hold something in my windows for a short time before releasing it. Around the windows, I experimented with metal and wood. Shortly after being used, the dots dropped and vanished from the windows. I'm going to use a tape, I suppose. It's cold here, so perhaps it'll work better when the weather warms up.
