I'd like to know if I can open the d ring or if it's welded shut. ?

I've ordered D rings in a variety of sizes, so I'm not sure which ones these are, but I believe they're all closed. There are no joins and they appear to be formed as a single piece.

When you use these, will they scratch? Is there a way to get rid of the black?

The black has not been scratched off. There are scratches from normal wear and tear, but that is to be expected with any hardware purchase.

br>I'm making a dog collar for my medium-sized dog, and I used that D ring. Imagine my surprise when I went for a walk with her and found myself holding only the leash after 10 minutes. Thank goodness it was late at night and there was no one on the street when she took off. She has a lot of pull, but this d ring should not break! This is of poor quality. If you have a medium-sized dog, I don't recommend it. br>br>Update 8/24/19br>I made a collar for my 25-pound puppy, and the ring fell apart after only one walk!! If I were on a busy street, this would be disastrous! br>PLEASE BE INFORMED! br> WARNING: COLLARS MADE FOR SALE ARE NOT SAFE TO USE.

It was not the right size for me

This had nothing to do with the 1 inch D rings. I've ordered 1 inch D rings from Amazon a few times before and have never received the incorrect size. It's less than an inch long and doesn't fit the purpose I had in mind. I'm incredibly disappointed that I wasted my money on these.

What a fantastic offer! I paid $3 for a six-pack of d rings at Hobby Lobby

I decided to give these a try because I got a lot more for a great price, as you can see in the photo of the hobby lobby and amazon d rings. They're both 1 inch in size. The amazon ones appear to be a little thicker than the hobby lobby ones. They're comfortable, but I haven't worn them long enough to know if they'll hold up (though I'm confident they will). I'd buy these again in a heartbeat!.

I sewed these onto two aprons, and each apron had 22 small handprints hanging from it. They were gifts that said, "Hands down, the best teacher. " The small hands could be removed so that the apron could be used, but they could also be clipped to the apron so that the children could see their own hand prints on the apron at school. They were the perfect size for my needs, were sturdy, simple to operate, and arrived quickly!.

They're not quite a half-inch thick, but they're close

When I first received these, I noticed that they were significantly smaller than the ones I'm used to buying. They didn't fit properly because the 1/2 inch measurement was taken from the OUTSIDE diameter, from one end to the other, not from the inside. My previous ones were 1/2 inch inside and had a MUCH thicker D ring. As I was returning these, I was unable to take a photograph. I suppose I'll just have to pay a little more for the ones that are right for me.

Discouraged - VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY I honestly have to say that I read the reviewer's words about how thin these were, but I seriously never thought a d-ring could be THAT thin; I use these on handbags I make and dog accessories

I wouldn't put my faith in these dunderheads. rings that can be used for either of these purposes I find the items to be useless, so they are a waste of money for me. I'm sure they'd be ideal for some applications, but not for mine. NO ! I'm not going to buy these and will most likely give them away. The thinnest of the thinnest of the thinnest of the thinnest THIN!.

I was let down

I've made a lot of purchases on Amazon and have always been happy with them. This purchase, however, is not one of them. I'm aware that the thickness of these D-rings is specified in the details. I'm a visual person, so it's a little difficult for me to tell without seeing it in person. As a result, I had to make my purchasing decision solely on the basis of the photos. If you're looking for a heavyweight, this isn't the place to be. I think the seller should specify that these are lightweight in the product description. I'm keeping them just to avoid the hassle of returning them, but I won't be ordering any more because they aren't suitable for my needs.

It's pointless

This was used to make a dog collar. When any pressure was applied to the D ring for the first time, it separated, rendering it useless and dangerous. My dog's tag had come off, and the D ring had completely detached from the collar, indicating that my leash was no longer attached to him. Extremely hazardous. Spend a little more to get a better product.
