The adjuster is simple to remove

The first piece of elastic I took out of the package had the adjuster pull off of it. Putting it back on is difficult, if not impossible. It will work if meticulous adjustments are made. Alternatively, omit the adjuster and just use the elastic. It's nice to have elastic that matches the fabric's color, but that's a lot of elastic.

These ear straps were very appealing to me. They work well with the type of face mask I make, and they are suitable for children and women's sizes; I haven't tried them on an adult male, but I'm sure I could. The rubber stopper works well, and I can wash my masks in the washing machine in a lingerie bag without them being bothered. I don't know how well my masks would hold up in the dryer because I always line dry them. I'd buy more in a heartbeat.

I like how you only have to adjust them once and they stay put because the elastic doesn't pinch your ears like regular elastic can. They're adjustable and soft, which I really like. Behind the ears, there is no irrationality. Ear pieces can be used to match or contrast with the fabric.
