This has been my go-to machine for years to sew bikinis and have never had any issues. Can anyone tell me if they have tried using rubber swimwear elastic and if so, which one do you prefer, cotton or rubber?.

I don't think it's white

It has been such a disappointment to use this product. My nephew also ordered two. I bought two boxes to make medical masks. As opposed to being white, the elastic appears to be dirty flesh colored.

A cotton fabric

Cotton is in my shopping list since I prefer NOT to buy things made of polyester or rubber. In the washing machine, it swelled by about 25% when it was washed. It will be better for me to leave a little more next time.

Making masks was my purpose for this. There is much more stretch than wide Dritz elastics, but it is not a white elastic. Rather, it is more natural in.

I bought a bunch to sew a lot of swimsuits at a discount, because it is better in bulk than the individual packets I got from There was one thing that I didn't like about my third suit. The elastic was not all rolled together. Somewhere around the 7th yard, it was held on by a clothing tag. Wondering if that is a weekly occurrence.

My favourite way to use them has been for sewing them into straps of dancewear. When I tried out the first spool, I immediately bought a second As an example, I have attached a photo of the front and back of some straps I made using.

After using the items for a little while, we will know whether durability will be a problem. Very happy with the elastic when sewing it in using the elastic foot on my serger. There is no need to worry about running out of things when I have a box.
