yes. It was for a face mask that I was making at home.
No, you can take it off to clean your masks. After removing them, you'll simply put another one on. While on, however, maintain a firm grip.

I peel off the backing and stick two of them together in the pocket on my masks. I don't believe the stickiness or thickness are sufficient for just one. When I use two, it works well for me, but it is not as cost effective.
I used these for DYI masks, and they are flimsier than I had anticipated. I'm sure they would be fine if glued to a rigid mask, which I believe is what they were designed for, but they don't hold up as well as the ones used for disposable surgical masks. They are a lot easier to thread than pipe cleaners, but they don't seem to provide enough closure once they are inserted. It's not a bad product, but it's not the best fit for my needs.
As long as I sew them into a pocket in the mask, they'll suffice for our home-made creations. I tried one on top, but it only lasted a few days before crinkling and falling off the fabric. It's fine for a single use, but for washable masks, I'd recommend covering it with fabric. I've washed mine with the bridge inside, sewn around rather than through it, and it's still functional.
They keep the air out of your glasses and prevent them from fogging up.
When I first got these, I was worried about how they'd fit in the face masks I was making because the masks aren't straight across (they contour around the nose). It wasn't necessary for me to be concerned. I was successful after some trial and error and watching a few videos. Even though the adhesive seemed strong, I top stitched the entire mask and added extra stitching on both sides of the nose bridge to ensure it wouldn't move after washing.
For those who wear glasses, this is a dream come true. This allows you to use cloth masks without them fogging up.
I made the error of putting this on my mask with the inside facing out. After that, I flipped it over and sewed it in. It didn't stay put, but I was able to sew it in and it looks fantastic.
These nose wires have made a big difference in my life. I'm always misplacing the ones that came with my (many) masks, so I've stocked up on spares. They sit flat in my masks and help to keep them in place comfortably (nose wires also keep my glasses from fogging up). I haven't tested the adhesion because I don't intend to stick them to my masks (I don't remove the peel-offs). to reveal the sticky side by peeling off the backing. ) Rather, I slip them in and out of the small nose-cone before and after washing. Because I remove the wires for laundering, my masks have a wire slot. These wires are said to become flimsy if bent frequently in a few reviews, but I haven't had that experience yet. I'm going to remove the peel-back if they start to snap. removing the backing from two wires and gluing them together to form a single thicker, stronger wire.
