I haven't put them in the washer yet, but they appear to be durable enough.

Do you use the larger or smaller hole to thread your needle?

Wrap a few inches of the reusable beading line around the face mask's elastic cord. Then, thread both ends of the beading line through the cord lock's larger hole until they emerge in the smaller hole. Finally, pull the beading line all the way through the bead lock until the face mask cord is completely through. Rep for the second elastic cord on the face mask, using the same bead line as before.

These work well with 18" elastic cording but not with 14" elastic cording. While trying to get one of the pieces of elastic in, it nearly snapped. I had to upgrade to the 14" cord because the smaller one was too flimsy for my liking. I'm bummed that I'll have to go out and buy more.
