There are 19 different masks for your face. These arrived quickly and fit perfectly with the 1/4" and 5mm elastic I've tried so far. I counted them because some reviewers for various cord lock listings claimed they were shorted, but this package contained 102 cord locks. Rather than using a needle and thread to pull the elastic through, I use a folded piece of 20-pound paper. g floral wire through the opening, then put the elastic through the folded end and pull it through in a second. (In case that tip helps anyone, this is also how I pull elastic through mask casings and pony beads!) ) When I run out, I'll definitely buy more; I imagine we'll be wearing masks for a long time.
I've made hundreds of masks and, like so many others, began by using elastic, but eventually switched to adjustable over-the-ear straps made of rattail cord and secured with cord locks. I've tried other brands in black (which was more difficult to feed the cord through) and white (which was a little easier). Because feeding single cords through them one at a time was time-consuming, I decided to see if clear cord locks were available, which they were. I discovered that these were a little softer to the touch, had a little more stretch to them, and best of all, I could feed two cords through at the same time! That will save me a lot of time! They also work just as well as the original cord locks at keeping the cording in place. These are something I would strongly suggest.
Since the Covid-related event, I've made 130 masks and given them away. Our state has been hit by number 19. Since that first mask a few months ago, my masks have evolved. I'm not using a nose wire and instead using these cord adjusters to allow the masks to be lengthened or shortened to fit the needs of each individual. A large hole can be found on one end of the rubber caps and a small hole on the other. These are simple to attach to 1/8" wide elastic through the large hole, and the small hole keeps them firmly on the elastic while allowing you to adjust the elastic to your desired length. The only problem is that I didn't get all 100! This is a common occurrence with these types of supplies. I'm guessing they're made in China, but that's just a hunch.
These are a great way to customize the size of some of those extra long face mask earlobes that stretch out after a few washes or repeated use. br>br>Getting them on can be difficult, but once they're on, they're pretty tight. I'd recommend using some sort of stopper once you've got them on so they don't slip back out.
When worn behind the ears, it is very soft and comfortable. I'm glad I bought these for the masks I've made, and I'll be making more for my family and friends in the future. I like how clear they are, and how well they match any mask.
I used regular narrow elastic before I had access to all of the mask-making accessories. These will allow some of the masks that don't fit right to be adjusted. Neat.
It is not overly difficult to use. pushed the cord through the lock toggle with the end of a paper clip It was simple to adjust the mask.
These small plastic pieces work well with elastic to adjust the mask.
