It's solid bronze or brass, or is it plated? How much weight does the thing have?

There is a plating on it. It's also being used for tatting right now. I found winding thread on to be a bit difficult. A fine thread feels as if it may break as it is threaded.

It has a bobbin, does it not?

It has been a variable result

Both of these have been sent to me. While the first one had a lovely color with amazing etching, the solder did not seem to be clean, and it was Less than 12 hours later, it was in two Immediately, a new one was installed. I like the 2nd one better. I found that it winded easily and did not unwind. However, the etching and color are less attractive than the first.

A cheap piece of junk

Fell apart. A glue spot just came apart where it was glued in the middle of a project. It had only been owned for 3 days before falling apart. It would be best if the adhesive was better.

As stated in the item description. This thread is smooth and does not catch. It is much better to use bronze than the more popular plastic substitutes.
