Punch needle embroidery and rug making require a needle like the Oxford Punch needle, which is made in the USA. In addition to indicating how each Oxford punch needle is to be threaded, it has a long spool of yarn attached to it that indicates what weight of yarn to use Many videos are available to you on YouTube or Instagram if you need to know how to use a punch needle tool. A lot of the ones I have from China were crappy and A Punch Needle by Oxford is my preferred choice I would not have lost money on those other broken ones if I had spent the money on it in the first place.

This is a good book for beginners

The Amy Oxford Mini is the first needle I have ever used in punch needle crafting, and I love it! I have only tried a few other needles before discovering Amy Oxford, but I love this needle! Easily threaded with no fatigue in my hands or wrists, the punches can glide smoothly through monk's cloth and look delectable. I am not sure how I will do with my neck though. The Oxford frames are probably what I need to invest in. I am definitely recommending this product. I wasn't impressed with my practice samples using other punch needles and started losing interest but after using this I am hooked!.

My first experience with rug hooking was only a few weeks ago

I would recommend buying the best tool you can afford. It is the second hook I've used and I like it very much. You can expect it to be of the quality you are expecting. Although the cost is a bit high for me, I think it's worth it to buy the best tools possible for whatever craft The technique is not difficult, but it takes a bit of practice to master it, and as with anything, the more you practice, the better you get.

My current weed eater is so comfortable to use and so durable that it doesn't need to be replaced.
