Questions & Answers
No, our wool isn't manufactured in China. This roving is grown and processed in the United States of America. Your patronage of American businesses is greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!
Hello, I'm unfamiliar with the term "spinning." So I'm not sure I can give you a complete answer. BUT, I will warn you, this wool is extremely delicate, and if you pull too hard, you risk pulling it apart or tearing it. I used it for arm knitting, and I had to be careful not to damage it. After I finished my project, I discovered that it wasn't recommended to wash it because it's made of pure wool rather than yarn, which makes it very fragile; however, I love the wool; it's soft and comfortable. I hope I was able to provide you with a satisfactory response to your query.
I use mine as a throw blanket at the foot of my bed, and no one has pulled it since I made it a few months ago.
I'm not sure. I'm not a knitter by any stretch of the imagination. This wool was purchased to be felted.

This was the first time I used wool roving in a project. It was simple to work with and process, as well as very soft.
It was a good investment. br>Extremely soft and easily spun into yarn; It's a great dye taker!.
This merino wool is absolutely gorgeous! I use it for wet felting, and it's fantastic. I ordered a pound of this wool, and wow, it's a lot of wool! It's an excellent value for the amount of wool you receive! You can see the wool in the bag it comes in in the photos; I also bought two different colors of 1 ounce wool from this seller, and it's all fantastic wool. The wool on the table isn't shown in its entirety; I only unfolded it to show some of its length, but the wool is quite long. This is a seller from whom I will purchase more wool.
This product exceeded my expectations in every way, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to arm knit. I needed more than 2 lbs but not more than 4 lbs, so I ordered 3, and it all arrived in a huge rolled-up ball that smelled like a barn! It's so soft and easy to work with that I finished my mother's blanket in about 45 minutes and used just the right amount of yarn.
The quality is excellent, and the delivery time is extremely quick. First and foremost, the seller is extremely responsive to inquiries, and this item was shipped within an hour or two of my order being placed. Don't be put off by the fact that you aren't Prime. Especially now that shipments are taking longer than two days on average due to the priority given to emergency-related shipments. This came in FASTER than Prime for me (2-day delivery). 3 days). (It's been closer to 1 for my Prime stuff. ) 5 weeks. Shep's Wool gets an A for shipping! br>I chose this based on the wool's sourcing and price, as well as my intention to use it in homemade Waldorf dolls. My standards may differ from others because I'm still prototyping with less expensive cotton before making final products with wool. However, it appears to be color-coordinated and smooth all over. I like the texture, and it's the weight I paid for, so I'm satisfied! I'll update the review if I run into any problems while working on my project, but so far, I'm very pleased, and I'd buy from this shop again.

Although this yarn is soft, especially for the price, it isn't the softest I've ever worked with.
2. This yarn will pill a lot, so if you're making a blanket that you'll use all the time, I'd recommend using a less fragile yarn. The pilling of the yarn doesn't bother me because I'm making my blanket primarily for decoration.
3. I purchased 9 pounds of yarn, which arrived in one long, unbroken, and untied skein. This was useful because it meant I didn't have to worry about tying in any loose ends.
4. I'm knitting my blanket with a 150-cm cable and 100 US circular knitting needles. I should have gotten a shorter cable because I ended up having to do a lot of stitch sliding, which took a long time.
5. Knitting with this needle size produces stitches that are about 1 1/2" thick and wide (as seen in one of the photos).
6. I used the stockinette stitch to cast on 30 stitches, which gave me a blanket that was about 58" wide.
Drop spindle spinning is a new hobby for me. I'd like to play with a lot of wool. It takes a lot of wool to spin one pound of roving. With whom you can learn. The fibers have a lovely feel in the hand, and the single ply sport-weight woolen is "lofty. " To the touch, it has a "springy" feel. I haven't yet moved on to the more advanced "plying" stage. crochet projects, for example. Having a great time spinning with this merino as a beginner. br>br>Any oops? In needle felting projects, booboo spun yarn is a great choice. I always have an "Oh. " on my mind. Felt It! " bag to keep the yarns that didn't work out. Keep in mind that the fiber isn't "ruined" in any way. Thrilled to support an indie American business! Definitely will buy from Shep's again. br>br>.
This is one of the softer options available. I've never seen merino wool at such a low price. I've mostly used it to make yarn, but I've also had great success using it as "roving" to make a pet bed that my animals are constantly fighting over. I've bought from them three times now, for a total of almost ten pounds, and each time it's been perfect.
