Thank you for taking the time to contact me. Yes, this is wool top, worsted wool with a long staple, which is very soft and popular for spinning yarn for knitting, weaving, and felting. Our Wool Top is made from raw wool that has been washed, carded, and combed. We hope this information is useful.
Thank you for getting in touch with us, Abril! If you're curious about the roving Staple Length, it's 3-inch. 90 mm (approximately 4 inches). If you're wondering how long the entire 1 pound bundle is, it's a single continuous strand of roving that measures about 50 feet long on average. We hope this information is useful! br>br>
Yes, I believe this technique could be used for larger pieces. The fibers have a nice combed texture and can be stretched and laid out in layers for needle or wet felting. However, if you want to make large felt pieces, wool batting in a thick roll may save you time because it is already arranged in a thick layer.
Yes, combining llama and merino fibers will increase the elasticity of your yarn significantly. Carding your llama with merino roving in a 50/50 ratio is recommended.

On my Ashford traditional spinning wheel, I'm having a lot of fun spinning this wool. There isn't a single vegetable or other containment to be found. When you spin it, it has a lovely feel to it. The yarn I'm spinning is a very soft single ply that I plan to ply with an acrylic for strength before knitting with. Merino is one of the softest wools you can wear directly on your skin without itching. br>br> The only problem is this: I paid 454 grams for a pound and 16 ounces. I weighed in at 14 ounces, or 397 grams. That may not appear to be a lot, but it is. Yarn comes in 50 gram hanks with 100 to 150 yards of dk weight. I'm still using it, but I'm on the lookout for a new mill that will allow me to get more precise weights. Just like any other company that sells products by weight, cutting every 16 oz order by two ounces could result in tens of thousands of dollars in profit for the company. br>If an eighth of your order is acceptable to you, then go ahead and buy it. However, if the fact that your advertised eight-slice pie only has seven slices bothers you, you should avoid ordering from this company. You won't be surprised if they don't change their product information to reflect the shortage.
This was purchased to make dreadlocks for a costume, and it was incredibly soft! It took both Rit dye and hair dye very well. I'm very happy with my purchase and will make another one. I'm looking forward to working with this seller in the future.
Dreadlock extensions were made with this product. It was a breeze to work with, took color beautifully, and is oh-so-soft. I only used half of the wool to make a full head of hair. br>This was my first time working with wool, and the end result far surpassed my expectations.
The All Purpose Rit Dyes work really well with the All Purpose Rit Dyes!.
I've bought merino from a few other places, but this is by far the most beautiful. The merino is extremely soft to the touch, comes in perfect packaging, and is clean and ready to dye. I wish they had a larger quantity for making a larger arm knitted blanket, but if I wanted to make a larger project, this seems like it would wet felt better with another bump.
I bought this roving to learn how to spin, and I had some other roving to comb and try out on my new spinning wheel, so I had a baseline against which to compare it. It was a dream come true when I first received this and began spinning with it. I'm going to place another order.
I was very pleased with both the quality and the price of this product.
Perfect, especially after a recent battle with weedy alpaca roving. I'm looking forward to spinning the lustrous, delicious fiber. Thank you.
