Questions & Answers

Is it possible to thread three strands of embroidery floss through the eye without difficulty?

These needles are used to hand sew the binding on my quilts. I have trouble threading the cotton thread on occasion, but these needles are far easier to use than any others I've tried.

Hello, what is the length of these needles? Do you think you could use them to quilt regular cotton fabric (not batiks) with them?

Sorry, but the needles I purchased are not large eye needles. "Quilting Needles Royal Type No. 1" is the name of the needles. Tulip Co. produced a ten-inch piece. , Ltd. and have a length of one inch (1"). A "big eye Quilting" needle in size 10 is also available from John James, and it is 1" long.

Why are there eight needles in the picture but only six in the description?

There are six needles in total.

Is it possible to thread a seed bead through this needle? Is it possible to make a sequin applique?

I have some 12/0 seed beads with a diameter of 2 mm. I just tried it with a 6mm hole. The needle glides through the fabric with ease, threaded with standard Coats and Clark cotton thread.

Sharp and silky smooth
5/5

These are the tiniest needles I've ever worked with, with the tiniest eyes. Surprisingly, despite my failing eyesight and trembling hands, I was able to thread the needle with 100 wt polyester thread. The needle glided effortlessly through the fabric. This is a superb item.

I do a lot of hand sewing and appliqué, and I think this is really nice
5/5

These are silky smooth, razor-sharp, and a breeze to thread. These needles are perfect for me because I prefer a finer, smaller needle. I used to use smaller embroidery needles, but now I have to buy them in packs of multiple sizes, which means I have a lot of large needles that I never use. These are a little more expensive, but they are well worth it. br>Update one year later: I've been doing a lot of English paper piecing this year, and these are by far the best of all the needles I've collected - I've got a lot of them. They're long enough to handle comfortably, fine enough to catch the fabric's edge, and they glide right through glue and extra fabric layers. Quite costly - But it was well worth the effort.

These needles are fantastic! I recently began English paper piecing and came across these Tulip big eye 10 needles in a video that was recommended
5/5

Over the years, I've used a lot of needles for quilting and sewing, and I really like these! They're razor-sharp and incredibly fine. They can be bent without becoming misshapen. They're packaged in a small glass tube with a cork to keep them safe when not in use. If you enjoy sewing by hand, you should definitely try them out!.

The needles themselves were of poor quality
3/5

I had previously purchased these and had noticed that they were a little rough. However, they felt as if they were born with that personality. This is my first hand sewing project of this type (I'm doing english paper piecing), but I'd already broken two needles and decided to buy some more. The package was in perfect condition when I received it. There was nothing wrong with the packaging; the little paper that is stuck in with the cork for the tube of needles was still in tact. The needles, on the other hand, were severely rusted. I've even noticed that some of my pieces have rust lines on them. This makes me very sad. I was not at home at the time they were first used, so I had no choice but to use them. I'm not sure I'll buy this brand again because they were both rusted the first time I bought them.

The needle is extremely smooth
5/5

For their size, they're easy to thread, and they're great for hand sewing, such as English paper piecing or piecing quilt blocks. The needle is extremely smooth. eye. I can thread by hand using the fold over method because the eye is just big enough. method of pinching (I suffer from arthritis. ) That's a good thing, MS. )br>br>The eyes aren't as big as tapestry needles, but they're bigger than sharps, betweens, milliners, and appliqué needles of similar size. br>br>Because the eye is nearly the same size as the needle shaft, no tugging is required to pull it through. They're fairly flexible, but not particularly strong, as one might expect from such a thin needle. Most stitching sessions last several days, if not a week. 8hrs/day. After 9 hours of stitching, only one of them broke. The durability is quite good. br>br>They're pricey, but for their size, they've proven to be the easiest to thread. They have the smoothest eyes I've ever seen (the eyes are sanded by hand).

These needles are a good length for EPP or applique sewing, and they glide easily through the fabric. Threading is a breeze with the larger eye. The needle's eye, however, only broke after a few uses! Because of my old eyes, I still need a threader to make threading easier, and I've discovered that even with careful threading, the eye if the needle bends. The fact that there were only five needles in the package rather than six was a major disappointment. Because of these factors, I am unable to justify the cost.

EPP is a big plus
5/5

These needles are ideal for English Paper Piecing due to their size and strength. And I have no trouble threading these needles! The eye is longer, but not wider, than it should be.

Brittle
3/5

It was only a short time. Yes, it comes in a nice package. Yes, it's slim. Yes, threading is simple. Yes, it slid through the fabric. Brittle: After three hours of applique, the needle broke. There has never been a needle with such a short lifespan.
