This pillow is fantastic! It turned out beautifully, and while the pattern wasn't exactly printed on the canvas, the guide made it simple to follow. I ran out of white yarn, but substituted another color. I like that this is a grown-up project rather than a kid's project, and I wish there were more adult patterns like it because I had a lot of fun making it. I would strongly suggest it.

The kit is fine, but I'm disappointed that the gnome's surroundings, which appear to be cream or tan in the product photo, are actually a pale yellow. The instructions are simple to follow and understand. I like how it came packaged; it makes it easier to keep track of everything.

The comment about it smelling like rotten fish in the previous review is not a joke! Before bringing it into my house, I had to let it air out for a week in the garage. It comes with a very inexpensive tool that does its job. We upgraded to a new tool, and the snagging and struggles with getting the yarn in place were significantly reduced. In the end, the super adorable pattern compensates for everything:.

This is an excellent first-time project! It took a few tries to get the hang of the tool because it was my first time doing something like this. Once I got the hang of it, this craft was a lot of fun to do while watching Hallmark movies because it allowed me to zone out and accomplish something! It was a pain that the printed fabric didn't match the string color, but it was simple once you figured out which colors matched which thread. The photo directions must be kept to count color placement and as a guide; I love it and will buy it again! br>Yarn had been precut to size and there were plenty of colors left over. The pillow case was well-made, with a suede-like back that made the pillow feel like a high-end item! I'm on the verge of purchasing another.

I emailed it to my 96-year-old mother. year- I have an elderly aunt who is a resident of a nursing home. She hasn't been able to see her family or even interact with the other members of the household since the COVID lockdown began. She possesses all of her faculties and uses them to keep herself occupied. This design appeared to appeal to her, and she expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work on a new project.

My mother recalled latch hook kits from her childhood and expressed an interest in purchasing one. She is also obsessed with gnomes, which is unhealthy. So this was the culmination of a year's worth of anticipation. She hasn't begun it yet, but she likes the concept and the illustration. I also gave her Amazon gift cards, which helped because we all know how much these people enjoy money. Mom, have a wonderful holiday season. If her creative process goes well, my aunt will be nostolgically intrigued when my mother opens it, so I'll get her one for her birthday. She's more interested in wildlife, particularly that found in the Sahara, so perhaps an elephant will cross my path and she'll be able to cross its stitches. I'm not sure how these things work or if that made any sense, but five stars.

However, I came across a few issues that deserve to be mentioned. To begin with, the yarn was not all the same size, particularly the white yarn, which is used extensively throughout the pillow. The white pieces were all significantly shorter than the others. Many of the pieces were crimped, making them too long to use in any color. The printed canvas didn't match the guide at all, but the biggest issue I had was that it was too short, leaving no room for the design's final three lines! It's a lovely pillow, but the yarn and canvas aren't of the highest quality.
