I've made over 40 sequined stockings, and this "train" stocking took me more than two weeks to complete. I spent anywhere from 3 to 6 hours. It takes 4 hours per day to complete. There are a lot of small pieces, a lot of sequins to attach, and a lot of pieces that require embroidery. For a first timer, I would suggest a simpler stocking.
You'd have to find someone you know who enjoys this type of craft and hire them to do it for you. Please accept my sincere apologies.
This isn't a question that applies to a Stitchery Kit.
I make a lining from a cute Christmas print and use the back of the stocking as a pattern, adding 1/4 inch seam allowance and 1 1/2 inch to the top. The bottom is machine stitched, while the top is done by hand. Also, if you haven't done one of these kits before, you should be aware that the front and back of the stocking must be hand stitched together.

Overall, I think making these is a lot of fun, and it's a great way to give a personalized gift to someone you care about! It is well worth your time. effort.
They're adorable, but I'll admit that I'm a seasoned needleworker who had to go over each step carefully. The felt was of poor quality, in my opinion. In fact, I was considering paying more if they used a higher-quality felt, perhaps a wool felt, since there is enough thread and sequins to finish the item. I probably spent 6 to 7 hours on each gift car and even longer on the locomotive; to give it more substance, I made a lining after stitching it together, which helped compensate for the poor quality of the felt; I also made the sugarplum fairy stocking last year for a great granddaughter and this year's version for a cousin's baby girl. They're so cute together.
Although some of the instructions were a little difficult to follow, having a picture of the finished product was very helpful. Because the kit did not include enough sequins and beads for the project, I had to purchase more. Make sure you have access to a craft store before beginning this project, and if you are new to embroidery, look up how to do some of the stitches online. Because I couldn't get the French knots to work, I used black sequin beads for the snowman's eyes and nose. On one of the Christmas trees, I also used white beads to replace the white French knots. If you aren't familiar with this type of sewing, it was simply too time consuming and frustrating to attempt the French knots.
This is my second time working on a Bucilla stocking. The details are adorable, and the instructions are simple to follow, but a beginner may find it difficult. The green felt used for the stocking's base is of poor quality! It is very easy to catch and to pill. Bucilla clearly scrimped on this one because the felt on the sugarplum stocking I made previously was fantastic. Aside from the felt on the stocking's base, it's an excellent project.
It was a lot of fun for my grandchildren to participate in this activity. This is an outstanding stocking. It's the sixth time I've done something like this for my grandchildren. It's full of sequins and sparkles, and it's a lot of fun to make. It has a lot of ornaments and designs that I like. The only flaw is that the stitches are poorly described. I, on the other hand, simply go to You Tube and learn the stitch there. Furthermore, the names should not be written in cursive, as this is no longer taught in schools! In any case, this is a kit that I strongly recommend. While watching (not so much) television in the evenings, I enjoy working on it.
This is the only brand of kit that I will use to make stockings for all of my grandchildren. Not only is it of excellent quality, but the instructions, printing, and felt are also of exceptional quality. I've used other brand kits before and found them to have poor instructions, insufficient parts, or lines that are difficult to see and cut out. Spend the money on these kits if you want to make things easier for yourself. They don't let you down.
As a novice, I took on this project and found it to be much more difficult than I had anticipated. However, I followed the instructions and had no issues, aside from the fact that it took me longer than expected. If you're a beginner and don't understand all of the stitches, a quick search on YouTube will help you out. I'm so glad I made this for my grandson's first Christmas because it's so lovely. I doubled the hanger and sewed it on with any remaining stitches because my family uses stockings as gifts.
Although they are difficult to put together, they are of excellent quality. I've made three more with this brand, and they've all turned out beautifully, but only for those who enjoy sewing and have patience with detsiling.
