Questions & Answers
I bead with tiny beads and white quilting thread. I've made 27 bucilla kits so far. It's simpler to thread the beading needle with the thread.
We do, in fact. $11. The first item will set you back 99 dollars, and the second will set you back $4 dollars. Each advertisement costs $99 to produce.

Selected User Reviews For Bucilla 18-Inch Christmas Stocking Felt Applique Kit, 86108 Snow Fun
I've made more than 30 Christmas stockings and consider myself an expert on these kits. This kit is adorable when finished, so this review is mostly about the kit's quality. Bucilla stockings kits' quality continues to deteriorate and be inconsistent. Some of the felt is so thin that it can be seen through, the thread is extremely fine, and beads/sequins are almost always in short supply. If you contact Plaid, they will provide an insufficient quantity of materials, but your progress will be halted while they send replacements. Unfortunately, I believe Plaid is the only company that sells Bucilla kits, so I'm stuck using their low-cost materials. I'm just hoping they'll pay attention to the customer feedback and improve the quality of these stockings so they'll last for our loved ones.
They're also delicate, so Santa should avoid using them on Christmas Eve. This is my third stocking, and I plan to continue making them until all of my grandchildren have one. I enjoy doing them, but don't expect it to be a quick task. I'd say I've put in about 30 hours, and I only work on it at night while watching TV. I've never had a problem with the amount of material in each bag and always have enough, but I save all of my seed beads and sequins from one project to the next. I also save all of the yardage, and my third one, I discovered, needed to be lined after it was finished to prevent the stitches on the back from breaking if it was actually used. Because they are fragile, I recommend that Santa refrains from using them on Christmas Eve.
I lined it with white fabric I had on hand because the white felt was too thin; I'll buy white felt for future Bucilla stocking reinforcements because the felt quality has deteriorated significantly over the years. In 1980, when I first began making Bucilla stockings, the felt was about twice as thick! That appealed to me. I, too, ran out of white thread, clear beads, and other items, as did other reviewers. Bucilla, how are you doing? Increase the price by a buck and try to improve the felt quality and supply quantities! It would be wonderful to see the quality you used to have, and your designs, as always, are adorable.
This stocking had poor overall quality. It was nearly impossible to see the pattern printed on the white part because it was so light. To figure out where the appliques should go, I had to hold it up to the light. While printing this color, their ink had to be nearly depleted. There were insufficient sequins of certain colors, as well as a scarcity of beads. I had to buy more of both to finish the product because the felt was too thin to hold much weight, so I had to line it. I could have poked my finger through some of the felt sections if I'd tried hard enough. Bucilla used to have some nice stocking kits, which is a shame.
These are a lot of fun for me to do! The instructions are simple and easy to follow, and there are plenty of materials to get started. Despite the fact that I am a novice at this, I think it turned out fantastically. I worked on this one for about two months, putting in about 5 or 6 hours per week. It takes time, but it is, in my opinion, well worth it in the end.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO WORK! It will, however, turn out to be cute: I'm almost out of clear beads because I didn't get enough. The needle provided did not fit any of the clear beads. I used one of my smaller needles and it only fit about half of the time. Some of the felt is very thin in certain areas. low level of quality.
She has not yet begun working on it, but she has opened the package. The content's quality had a big impact on her. She also adores the style.
I changed the penguin to a puppy like the one they have; you'll need to know how to sew, which you can learn by watching videos on YouTube. The kit's drawing isn't exactly clear.
