This was exactly what I needed! I spent a day and a half working on this piece because I couldn't put it down! It was a lot of fun, and I could carry it around with me wherever I went. I stuffed it into my backpack and used it as a study break. I just watched a quick youtube video if I didn't understand a stitch and I was good to go! Having a great time!.
with the best of intentions If you're tired of being on Instagram all the time, here's a suggestion: I decided to give it a shot after seeing it on ing and FBing. Complete honesty: I can sew a simple stitch, knit a small amount, and write in cursive, but I've never attempted this type of project before. Well, not to brag, but have you seen the attached photos? It's worth noting that I added a few details that the printed template didn't require: It took about 3-4 days, a couple of hours at a time, to complete the bee, more detail on the flowers, filled in petals, and so on. It was fun, easy, and very satisfying when it was finished. Anyone with a smidgeon of a craft-related skill would benefit greatly from this book. with the best of intentions.
To begin, I'd like to introduce myself as a PhD student who considers herself to be quite crafty. In addition to being a painter, I'm also a musician. I've never attempted to embroider, cross stitch, knit, or crochet anything. When I opened the kit, there were no instructions on how to assemble the hoop with the fabric. br>br>I bought this as a way to have something fun to do while also being productive. br>br>When I opened the kit, there were no instructions on how to assemble the hoop with the fabric. I eventually figured it out, but the main thing I didn't know was how tight to tighten it, which is important later on. The yarn is too thick for the needle's eye and frays into six strands as a result of the second issue. To get it through, I ended up using wax. There are no instructions for tying the yarn off. I wasn't sure whether or not I was supposed to tie a knot. I ended up tying a knot in the thread's end. There is a picture with conflicting information about which color to use. For the same part of the flower, it will say color "4th" or color "1st. " br>br>The actual stitches are shown with pictures and very poor English, but they are simple enough to understand; however, getting the needle's eye through the fabric was incredibly difficult. My hand was tired after just one stem because it was so difficult. I gave it a go with my husband, and he said something wasn't quite right. Then it occurred to me that the hoop was possibly too tight. It was. This helped a little, but the fabric is too tightly woven for needle and thread of this size. Furthermore, for someone who is a true beginner, the patterns themselves are extremely small, particularly in the leaves. br>br>On a side note, the fabric and thread have a very unpleasant odor. br>br>While the concept of a color-by-numbers project for beginners is appealing, this isn't it, fam. I'm going to invest in a higher-quality, more enjoyable kit.
This is not a beginner's kit. I was really looking forward to following a step-by-step beginner tutorial when I purchased this, but what you actually get is very little instruction. Maybe if you knew what you were doing, the minimal stitch descriptions would suffice, but as a complete beginner, I became frustrated and gave up because I was afraid I was doing the stitches incorrectly and they wouldn't turn out looking like the picture. I looked for tutorial videos on the internet, but they are few and far between, and no one uses this specific kit.
It does, however, include a picture of the finished product as well as stitch instructions.
I realized how much I miss working on projects that were assigned to me while in quarantine. Now I have to pick up my pants and decide which one I'm going to wear. When I bought this, I felt the same way. This set is definitely worth the money and is a lot of fun; I saw it as an opportunity to have homework at the end of each day, but something fun and creative. I finished 1 after 5 days! However, this was due to sheer excitement and a desire to keep going. This is something I would recommend to anyone who wants to reintroduce themselves to this series. I don't believe it's intended for beginners, as the instructions were adequate. I had to rely on my memory and use videos to double-check my information. As a result, I give it a 4/5 for beginner levels.
As a beginner embroiderer, I think the instructions could use a little more guidance. Before I started, I pressed the fabric with a barely hot iron to remove the creases, and the entire outline vanished. (That should definitely be mentioned on the kit. ) I'm not sure I'll be able to even begin, let alone finish, the one where the outline vanished. I'm not sure what the rest of the kits are like. This is just a first impression, after all.
It's simple to look up stitches and fundamentals (like how to thread a needle, for example) on the internet. The thread isn't of exceptional quality, and I had to cut out several knots. I also came dangerously close to running out of certain colors, but that could have been due to my lack of knowledge. Overall, they came out beautifully, and it was a fun hobby to pick up while watching TV or playing COVID.
