The answer to this question is no. The ink pattern is stitched over with embroidery.
It will state how many individual strands you should use for each stitch in the instructions. Strings, for instance, are made up of 6 threads -- but you need to pull them in half so you can use 3 threads instead. As long as you have some patience, you can surely thread the whole thing. It takes a few tries to get the hang of it!

The image I used was for the design, and I remade it - lol I wasn't too upset with how it turned out! It was nice to get the other two kits as well Despite being sturdy, the fabric held up reasonably well and the embroidery floss did not wear out. I also like how these kits come with wooden hoops, which I think are better than the plastic ones that come with most of these kits. I enjoyed working with the kits, and the finished product was great! Simple enough for beginners to get started, with more advanced stitchers having room to embellish.
The embroidery I did was very easy to learn for someone who had never done it before. They were very clear and to the point. My first step when I'm confused would be to look up something on YouTube. There is something really beautiful about this set.
