In short, I purchased the program and within a day I was able to make both a narrow and wide cover stitch, as well as three stitches. Despite what was mentioned, threading wasn't as complex as was stated. The machine I own is amazing

An example of this type of serger is the Singer 14T968DC. A 2-inch needle can sew several layers of denim fabric, but it may not work well with a 4-inch needle. An upholstery fabric made up of five layers. Since this machine does not have an adjustable presser foot, fabrics that are too thick will cause it to raise the presser foot enough to release the tension.
My belt clutch also failed so I bought another serger and use the cover stitch mode on this one. I plan to sell it since I never use it. [Set by a technician]

The product is good. I would buy it In light of the many negative reviews it has received, I researched this machine for a year before I purchased it. Having grown up using a serger, I decided that no matter how difficult it is to thread this machine, it is still more capable than I am. I do not find this machine to be more difficult to thread than others. In this case, you just have an extra thread and an extra looper you might have to work with depending on what stitch you're doing. Sergers, in my opinion, are a bit difficult to thread Setting up the machine requires some time, but it is worth it in the long run. Sewing with this machine is just like sewing on a dream machine and I'm really thankful Using the manual that came with the machine for threading as well as the printed instructions, I printed the instructions. Both can be helpful when used together. Ninety-eight percent of the time, if there is a problem with the stitch or the thread breaking, it will be a result of improper threading. It is essential that you pay particular attention to that or you will have issues. I have attached a photo of what happened when one thread for the lower looper was behind an arm instead of in front. If I were to purchase this machine again, I would do so immediately.
I wanted to provide you with more information on the case. As a first step, I want to say You can get this deal for a great price at this time! My serger in Germany cost almost the same as the one in the U. S. , BUT in Euros. The drop in price is probably due to the fact there are so many owners (especially beginners) who are having so much trouble with it. (Most of the machines are returned to Amazon within a few days). It is by no means necessary to do so. It is the funny manual that is the clue, as other reviewers have pointed out several times. I have found that the machine is a good, sturdy one, the only problem is you need to learn how to use It is not the machine you should purchase if you are a true beginner and or have a tendency to be impatient. Try to find one that is simple Those who are still awaiting Purchase the item with the little money you have left over. Moreover, you will also need to download the workbook and step by step Learn and practice. * For those who do not know the current brand mix The Singer, Pfaff and Husqvarna Viking companies have merged into one corporation (SVP worldwide) since a couple of years ago. Comparison of the following machines can be done through the Internet A Singer Professional 5 and a Pfaff Coverlock 3 are both suitable options. A score of 0 or 4 would be considered correct. I saw several brands on Amazon at the same time ranging from Husqvarna Viking Huskylock S25 to 0 (Maybe some aren't available in the US Google You should not be fooled by the outside design, as they appear to be different, but they are not. In addition to these, HV Huskylock S25 also has an electronic display, however, this is the major difference between the two). Comparing the manuals, which are available as downloads, reveals that the chassis is basically the same, even when they are written differently. Buying the Singer serger will get you a Pfaff Coverlock 3. If you get the Pfaff serger, you would have a Singer serger. This table is different from 0 in that no extension table is included. In regards to stitching and broken threads and needles Make sure you use the right needles and quality overlock thread. With the money you'll save, buy QUALITY overlock thread A standard sewing machine needle that is used for conventional household machines will not It is true that size matters in this case. It is imperative that real quality yarn be used for stitching. Comparing the cost of the machine to the cost of some thread, you would have spent an enormous amount of money on the machine. In addition, if you use quality thread you can wash it several times without it breaking for several years sometimes you toil and sometimes you have nerves on your sewing projects. I would like to point out It looks even better on garments when you use quality thread. simple thing to be aware of is Make sure you put the needles in completely when you change or replace them this is done by loosening ALL the screws and then sliding in the needles thoroughly before tightening the screws again. (Tighten ALL the screws, even those not used. Taking care of the speed thing is imperative since if screws are not tightened, you might find them everywhere else or not at all and need to see your local dealer frequently to replace them). Since the space inside the needle holder is very limited, if you do not loosen the screw next to the one that secures the needle you are replacing, the next screw will block the needle, which is dangerous since the needle has to be in the correct position to work will not work and doesn't mean the machine is malfunctioning. It needs to be set-up properly. The proper way to achieve results is to set up properly. For those who have trouble with the automatic tension, here are the following steps What is mentioned in the manual must be followed In the rewritten version By threading the machine, the ATD-value is set Place the knob back in the proper position, and then simply repeat Ensure that all of your desired threads are properly inserted into the tension discs before dialing ATD. An easy rule of thumb to remember If your stitches are skipped, you probably have a needle problem (broken or improperly inserted needle), or if your seams are loose and flabby There is an issue with tension (threads not inserted properly into discs, wrong program, or dirt/dust between the tension discs) 1) Sew the 2-pieces together, starting with the short end I am thread-based The cover - When stitching, be sure to keep in mind that the thread for the right seam goes along the path that is usually taken by The wide section should be stitched twice I am thread-based The cover - When stitching the right needle thread is applied to the regular path, this is NOT the case! It's great that it was helpful. Greetings from Berlin, and I hope you have as much fun with your serger as I do. ) Michael

Despite my long history of sewing, I'm new to sergers but I've been stitching since 1967. Because I will be using this machine quite a bit (I do costume design and clothing design) and have not had a great deal of success with Brother machines (sewing and embroidery), I went with this model. This is an old Singer sewing machine built in the 1960s (all metal). It is reliable and durable. There is no doubt that this can be overwhelming and complicated at first. But it is best to follow the advice of the veterans here. To get a good grasp of the layout of the machine, browse through the manual, and then use the workbook to learn each stitch and how it is set You have to use tweezers if you want to thread your jeans. The diagrams make it look complicated, but if you follow them step by step and everything is color coded, you can figure it out. As a tendency to overcomplicate things, I had to remind myself to slow down. Once I did, it was straightforward. You'll be tempted to skip around, but if you're new to it like me, you need to take it one step at a time.
