Questions & Answers

Heavy-duty canvas or leather may be sewn through this machine?

In my case, I used it to repair the canvas on my gazebo's top. As a matter of fact, I bought it for this purpose. However, even though one needle broke, I was far more successful with smaller, standard duty needles, even though I tried heavy-duty "canvas" needles. The needle would stop sewing after a few layers when there were like three or four, but once it started, it would just keep going.

Is there a foot pedal on this machine?

The machine does indeed have a foot control, but it is a major disadvantage of the machine. I cannot control it well with this pedal because it is so light that a breeze could knock Consequently, there is no smooth start on this machine. You press the pedal, you hear a hum, and then you press again, and it goes full speed until you remove your foot from You might want to consider another machine, or better yet, you can check one out at a sewing machine dealer to make sure it works. There will be a Goodwill donation for my machine.

It is possible for a beginner to use this machine. Would you mind telling me what the speed is?

The answer is yes One of the most simple machines to use is this one. As soon as you start using the foot pedal, you will be able to control the speed easily. In the past, I have given many of these machines These machines also reside in my home on a regular basis. Wearable art such as jackets and shirts are produced from leather work, quilting, and other forms of cloth work. This is a great machine!

Decision made on the fly. My nieces are just learning to sew, and at the age of 12, I thought it would be a perfect gift while they're still at the age where they can explore hobbies and are curious about learning new things and doing things with their hands other than just With five sewing machines, ranging from Singer to Kenmore and a serger, along with an antique Feather Weight Singer that now sews flawlessly, I have been sewing for 45 years so I am pretty familiar with this The thing is, I viewed numerous videos on YouTube about the machine before purchasing it, and I was completely convinced that it is just what they needed. My first reaction was to unbox it, read the instructions, and put it to the test. The stitch, every buttonhole, and every feature. Astonished was the best word to describe me. It has a number of advantages, including its ease of use, quietness, speed, no need to change tension when switching fabric weights (although you may have to do it with extreme variances), and lastly, its low price - it is both durable and easy to use. This product does what it's supposed to do the best. I found the automatic threader to be somewhat cumbersome, but that's just a minor complaint since I have never had one before, so it's no This machine was so much faster Machines in the conventional range are 400 - 600 watts It is time that pays with me, so I sell 500) as I am a speed sewer! I also like the fact that it's a mechanical device rather than an electronic one, which means that if it ever needs repair work, it can be handled with much less difficulty. The computerized sewing machines I sold did not have the same heft as the mechanical ones, and they tend to be temperamental and more prone to breaking down. My first impression was so good that I bought one for myself after playing with it for a few days. At the moment, I have a steel Kenmore from 1980 sitting on my stand, but it will go to the attic soon. In all likelihood, I will stretch this machine to the limit since I love it so much.

Great machine for the price
3/5

I have already used it many times and liked it. I have used it many times since I purchased it. It would have been better if I had waited to give Only last week, I used it again and it sounded as if metal was hitting in the top and all the threads at the bottom gathered up and the needle broke from hitting the foot. I have only had the machine for 5 months. My Singer call was answered and I was informed the warranty is only 90 days, and I need to take it in to be repaired. In order to get it serviced, I would end up spending more than I originally spent. I am very disappointed in this machine and I will not be buying another Singer in the future. In 15 years of heavy sewing, I've owned a Brother sewing machine for $99 and it lasted me 15 years. In my conversations with the Singer woman, she explained that this is a self-lubricating machine, and it has to be used to ensure that everything is properly oiled. There's not a lot of time where that happens, but for me this machine is not right.

A bad stitch shouldn't be a reason to cry

READ THE MANUAL first! Our stuff requires both very thick and delicate materials, and the stitch is beautiful no matter what kind of fabric we use my wife and I even sew t-shirts for our homeschoolers on this machine It's made of vinyl that is stiff and thick, silky satin, and Lycra that is stretchy. It does not mean that walking on your foot does not A leather-tasting experience is definitely on the horizon Everything needs to be thicker, including the needles. It is not a super fancy machine with a million features (if you want those, get a computerized machine) but it gives me a much more detailed stitch than I anticipated, especially for the price. *read the manual before you buy this machine. Read the manual, don't take my word for it. There was a very detailed manual included with Singer's sewing machine, including instructions for setting it up and proper sewing advice. Everything was printed, stapled and included The manual is not on a DVD or link to a PDF, but it is a physical book in the box with the machine. Amazing, isn't it? The thought of all the people who gave this machine poor reviews for the simple fact that they did not know how to use it properly or worse, did not know how to sew was astonishing to me personally. There are some pros and cons to the manual though. One only has to read it in order to find information that can be helpful See the pictures, but do not just look at them. In light of the number of bad reviews I found regarding this device, I am assuming that the customers who gave it bad reviews also complain that their phones are broken because they don't understand how to install new apps. ****each machine is a little bit different in the way it works. Using this machine is very easy and it won't take long to get used to it. You don't need any special skills to operate it, and it's not weirdly different from other machines. If you work with thick materials and you want a strong stitch, without wearing out the motor or snapping the needle every time you remove it, this is the machine to have. * The manual should be read seriously.
