A low-cost plastic cover is included. If you don't like it, make one with your new sewing machine, using the pattern I cut out of the plastic cover.
I bought it for Halloween and used it to make several costumes in which I sewed multiple fabrics at the same time, such as about four stacked regular cotton fabrics. For sewing irregular and bulky fabrics, I adore this machine. Even furry fabric was no problem for me to sew. The needle rises when you stop peddling on this machine, which is my only criticism. This is a pain, especially if you need to turn fabric frequently. Aside from that, this is a fantastic stitch machine that is light and moves quickly.
The bobbin access is located at the top of the machine. The problem with a cabinet is that the front of the bobbin case must be removed in order to access the adjustment switch. It can be stored in a standard sewing machine case and still function properly. I hope this has been of assistance.
There is a light on it, yes. I really like this machine because it's small and quiet.

It is simple to transport and use. The process of winding bobbins and threading the machine is simple and straightforward. My main machine is computerized, so it took me a few minutes to adjust to having to use the presser foot lever as well as the hand wheel to raise and lower the needle, but I was up and running in no time. Great work on the stitches. And there was never a problem sewing through multiple layers of fabric with seams. This machine has made me extremely happy.
Janome provided no customer support after the machine stopped working after exactly one month.
It includes all of the basic stitches, such as straight stitch and zigzag, as well as a few others. The needle threader is simple to operate, and changing pressor feet is simple. It felt like I was using a full-size machine in a miniature form. This machine will meet the basic needs for quilting or sewing clothes whether the user is an experienced sewer or a beginner. Because it's so small and light, I've taken it with me on both short and long trips to see family. I used this Janome Mod to teach my 11-year-old niece to sew. She quickly grasped the concept and found it simple to grasp.
br>br>It's been about 8 months since I got my machine. br>It has a lot of positive aspects: br>br>Excellent instruction manual with a wealth of information on how to use the machine as well as when to use it (i. e. Which stitches are for hemming various types of fabric, which are decorative, and so on. )br>br>User friendly / non-user friendly For a beginner, the controls are difficult to understand. br>br>Easy-to-operate drop-in bobbin. br>br>Has withstood the abuse of a beginner. br>br>Portable and light in weight. Other things I don't care for: br>br> br>br>1 - If you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, try using the words "innov There isn't much of a slow speed on the pedal. Depending on how much pressure you apply to it, it can go from slow to fast. br>br>2 - If you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, try using the words "innov When sewing with double needles, there is no second spindle for a second spool of thread, so you have to either add two spools to the existing spindle, which tangles the thread, or buy a stand to use. The machine, in my opinion, should simply include a spindle. br>br>It's a good machine for learning on.
After 20 years of faithful service, my White model 1730 finally gave up the ghost. This machine is nearly identical to it, but it performs slightly better! With a top-of-the-line design, it's incredibly simple to use. the bobbin is loaded I've already used it to make a few pieces of clothing. One thing I've noticed (and I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong) is that the fancier stitches (super stretch D stitch and F stitch) are a little more difficult to work with. G) on the machine, they don't look anything like the picture on the material. UPDATE: After a period of inactivity, I attempted to wind the bobbin and discovered that the winding mechanism had failed. For the few months that it lasted, it was fantastic. It still sews, for the time being. Perhaps I should dust off my old Model 1730 and wind the bobbins with it. It's a nightmare.
The only thing that disappointed me was that the picture and description stated that it was a self threader, but when I received the machine, it did not have one.
I just got this a few weeks ago and have been learning how to use it; I just finished my fourth pair of underwear on it:.
Though I may be biased because it replaced a very old and very cheap machine that was making my crafting life a living hell, I adore this machine. br>It's simple to use and performs admirably. Even though it's a "beginner" machine, it's more than capable of handling the projects of even the most seasoned sewer. I think I'll stick with Janome if/when I upgrade in the future!.
