Yes! This was my first sewing machine, and it was incredibly simple to learn how to use. It didn't take long for me to start practicing stitches!
I just tried it, and every time I get to the seam area, the thread breaks, despite the fact that I have the correct needle and denim thread. So I'm afraid you'll have to resort to one of the YouTube hacks.
Because I am new to sewing, I have no way of knowing how bright it is. The light, on the other hand, is extremely bright, so I had no trouble seeing what I was doing.
Hello - I usually go for a cotton/poly blend. It's long-lasting and simple to come by. Coats of paint Clarke is a well-known brand, and knowing what kinds of projects she's working on would be helpful. Depending on the task, the thread weight varies. If you want to dig deeper into the topic, I just googled "Brand names for sewing Threads" and found a number of experts writing about it. Best of luck!

I had never used a sewing machine before purchasing this one. To put it in context, I'm 42 years old and the father of two children. My wife looked at me like I was crazy when I told her I was going to buy a sewing machine, which she probably was, but I have no regrets. I bought it because I despise wasting things: br>br> Pants that could be hemmed, knees that could be patched, anything like that. Clothes are costly, and sewing by hand is time consuming. br>br>This machine comes with a fantastic DVD, which I watched once and then promptly discarded. I tossed it because you can watch the same video on YouTube without using a remote. I found it much easier to simply Google "Brother sewing machine instruction video" and watch Brother's video on a tablet next to my machine. br>br>And I'll be honest, I was a little concerned at first. Bobbins? What's the difference between a bobbin and a spool of yarn? Feet? Sewing machines are difficult to understand, but the instructional video was excellent. I had no idea *why* I was threading the thread in the places I was, but I sewed my first stitch once I got it done! I won't say it was the cleanest job in the world, but I managed to hem a pair of pants in a way that was completely functional. br>br>I was on a roll after my second pair. Without even watching the video, I switched the thread: Everything is brand new, including the bobbins. That's how easy it is to use this device: a non-essential item In less than 30 minutes, a 42-year-old woman can learn to sew. The fabric I sewed held up well and even looked sharp after a while (which is more a reflection of my lack of skill than a flaw in the machine). br>br>I know, I'm not trying to be complicated. I don't sew my own clothes or use very complicated stitches, but I believe this machine will handle the vast majority of the tasks I'll encounter in my home. br>br>I understand that this machine was not designed for me (the purple floral pattern is a dead giveaway), but I don't believe that any man should be afraid of learning to sew. It's a fantastic skill to learn, and this machine is an excellent place to begin.
To be honest, I expected it to take me several weeks to figure out how to get the needle to make proper stitches, but it only took me one day. br>br>I just bought this sewing machine a couple of weeks ago, and it's my first big purchase. For months, I'd been thinking about fashion, fashion design, clothing, and sewing, and I'd finally taken the plunge. Do it if you want to be funny. I was hesitant at first, fearing it would be "too tedious" (my worst nightmare) or "too difficult," but the Brother makes it so simple. br>br>Because the video is available on YouTube, the DVD in the box is largely unnecessary. Some aspects of this machine are self-explanatory, but even then, I would struggle for hours over a minor issue. It's a good thing the Manuel has something like a "if this is happening, it could be this" guide. Also, in two seconds, Google solved a tension issue for me. br>br>Anyway, it's a fantastic product, and I've already sewn a skirt with it after only a week of tinkering with it.
I love this machine! I took a beginner sewing class about ten years ago and was afraid to try again, but this machine is so simple to operate. The needle threader, extra feet, and automatic bobbin drop-in feature are all great features. The stitching is well-done and consistent. It's a fantastic machine for newcomers on the whole. The only drawback is that it isn't suitable for extremely thick fabrics such as jeans.
I had no idea what a sewing machine was until my wife purchased one and let me borrow it. I read the manual for about 20 minutes, and after that brief introduction, I was able to repair a large hole in a pair of pants as well as custom-make a pair of socks. make a sleeve to funnel mail from the garage door mail slot into a box a few feet away This is DEFINITELY for you if you're a beginner who wants to learn the basics of sewing and expand your skills without spending a lot of money. I can't say enough about how much I like it. This thing is the way to go, with 20 stitch patterns (including button holes) and an extremely user-friendly threading mechanism. It is strongly suggested.
I live in a small New York apartment, and the machine was a little bigger than I anticipated, but not by much. When not in use, it tucks away out of the way and looks great on a coffee table. It's far more durable than a "portable" or "mini" machine, which is ideal for my 13-year-old daughter. It'll be used by both young and old, and it has a lot of stitch options for us to use. Although there is a "how to" video, I wanted to get started on a project as soon as possible, so I just skimmed the included manual, which was similar enough to other machines I've owned that getting started was quick and easy. To thread the dreaded needle with my nearly 50 eyes, I bought a sewing kit that included thread and a magnifying glass. After completing my first project, I continued reading and discovered that a "needle threader" was already attached and ready to use. A TURNING POINT IN YOUR LIFE! We've already finished three projects in less than a week, thanks to this handy little device that I somehow overlooked when I bought it. I'm not sure if this is appropriate for a full-time sewer or quilter, but it's fantastic for us DIY crafters!.
In my thirty-plus years of sewing, this is possibly the worst sewing machine I've ever used. Tension issues have existed since the beginning. The LED light is dimmer than I'd like it to be. The bobbin cover is made of cheap plastic that is difficult to remove. This machine's design is awkward in so many ways, including upper threading. Because the take-up lever is buried so deep in the machine's "nose" that catching it during the process is difficult, I let my return window lapse, hoping against hope that the machine would prove to be useful. However, this was not to be. This machine is not at all something I would recommend.
Make the necessary arrangements. I opened the box and took it out. Make the necessary arrangements. As soon as I began to see, the stitch began to skip. I followed the instructions for troubleshooting. After that, I contacted the producer. I was told to bring it in for service!.
