Questions & Answers

Do you think it's heavy duty enough to repair denim jeans or hem them?

Indeed, I have made 3 pairs of jeans that are heavy and they A very good piece of equipment!

Do you get a walking foot with it so you can quilt?

There is a walking foot included in the XR3774.

Does this look like a fullsize machine? It looks so small that it might even be a 3/4 head. There is no mention of head size, only of weight, which isn't heavy for a full-size ?

The machine is a full-size machine. This is the first Brother machine I have owned (I have only owned Singer machines for over 20 years). I love it!

Do you know if this machine runs on ?

This device only operates at 110V and does not support dual voltage. The Brother representative tells me that I can use a stepdown transformer, but he does Although I bought this on Amazon and since I live in the Philippines, returning the product was something I did not want to be liable for. In order to ensure I met the two amp requirement for operation, I purchased a step down transformer of 500 Watts. All of the components worked perfectly after I carefully plugged them in. It is a pleasure to work with the 500 watt transformer. It is said that my lady loves the Brother and that it does everything she could possibly We just bought this machine and she made fitted sheets along with them. She highly recommends it.

I bought three of these new, but three of them were missing stitches
3/5

This is what I have to say During my free time, I teach sewing to kids and adults at a studio I run in my city. In the past six years I have been able to teach on a Brother XL printer Adapted from Sew Advance Sew Affordable After being used for hours each day, they still held up perfectly. Two of them finally succumbed to the ravages of time, so I went to find a replacement, only to discover that Brother no longer manufactures Following extensive research, I bought 3 of these and have been using them for a couple of months before replacing all of them. I decided to experiment myself with just one machine owning a project, because it is inconvenient for students to use different styles. It got stuck after two days. That sounds interesting. Strange. I opened another one and tried to finish. I came to the point where I needed a zigzag. STITCHES HAVE BEEN SKIPPED. The things that can create skipped stitches are things I'm quite familiar with as a seamstress. Despite the fact that the needle was brand new, it was definitely the right needle for my materials and was not dull or bent at all. My next step was to open the Additionally, the stitching on that one was also skipped. The needle on that machine would skip a stitch every time it jumped to the right. I manually turned the wheel and watched closely to make sure the needle did not "pick up" the bobbin on the right side in order to check whether it had anything to do with the fabric or the needle. NADA. The first time was not the last time. I love it. I put the machines aside on the day and went to work since there wasn't enough time to resolve the problem. When I was at the studio I got a call from a woman who was having issues with her sewing machine, and she was wondering if I could get a peek and see if there was anything Let's see what kind of machine she bought and what it did. It's a guess. A SPOILER follows I was knitting this one, and the stitches were skipping and sometimes I'd like to know where the XL is Back in 2011, I bought those from amazon for $65 a piece, and they've lasted this long. The new machine is twice as bad as that, and it comes with garbage To dig through my warranty to see if I messed it up with $342 is not something I like to do.

Buying this is one of the worst decisions you could possibly make
3/5

The quality of the product you get depends on the price. It had no automatic bobbin winder or anything, and I hadn't expected it to matter. The answer is yes. My sewing machine has a wound bobbin, and I don't like having to wind it. As the needle went into the hole, I experiment with the tension often, since I change threads often. . . . it's a super affordable machine, so I wasn't expecting much, but I am impressed with how cool the quilting table is, and the overall quality is good. There is no harm in giving your first review. The review above is my first. The product has turned out to be the worst I can imagine. I cannot believe how bad it has turned out. The things that aggravate me the most 1 *br It's funny how stitch length changes while you sew! A real change has taken place. The second point. The winding of the bobbin is beyond just a time-consuming task, it is downright difficult*3. You have to tighten the foot constantly while walking. Checking it every few minutes is a good habit for me. The hassle is too much for me. There is so much more I could say, but my anger is so great that I even don't want to keep it. have already started shopping for a "real" sewing machine, but I have to admit that the price sounded too good to be true and I suppose I'm going to have to pay for that. My hunch would be that it would not be a good gift for a beginner. You need to constantly pay attention to it if you use it because it has too many bugs. You don't need to bother me.

It's great to have it

My Viking has served me well for almost 40 years, and I still own Although a little more updated machine is what I wished for, I found it in this Brother model. I'm so glad that it comes with a This would be the perfect solution to The threader and the smaller amount of stitches were the reasons I bought this. Throughout the 40 years I have owned this Viking, I may have used no more than eight stitches. Using this machine every day helps me make quilts! I can't imagine life without it! A version has already been made and a second is in the works.

I love quilting, you are my The last time I went back, I turned around

For the first time in my life I bought a new domestic sewing machine. I'd used a 1945 cast iron machine for over 50 years. had a hard time quilting on my old machine because it did not have a walking foot, which they did not make for machines in 1945. (By the way The machine I was given as a kid to learn on was the first one I had access to, and I could not afford to buy a new one. I'm 34, I wasn't around in 1945. selected this model because it includes It was a bit hesitant for me. Although I enjoyed my old iron work horse, this new technology would not be to my taste. Since I was only planning on using the Brother for top patchwork, I would use the old Domestic for piecing and seamstressing. Since I have had this for a few months now, it is probably unlikely that I will ever use my old domestic Using the walking foot I have been able to do the following I love it! All is as it should be. Despite my limited experience, I managed to complete my quilting successfully. The darning plate and function were just used on a pair of jeans last night I love it! Several of the decorative stitches have been used This is amazing! Additionally, it has such a greater level of quietness than my old machine. A great feature about the foot pedal is the action. When the pedal was used on my old machine, I could basically choose between two speeds This is a very fast and lightning-fast process. The foot pedal is really responsive. Overall, I was skeptic when I purchased this new machine, and I have to say, I'm putting my old domestic on eBay today since I won't.
