Having used this machine, I also think it makes a great machine for beginners. Four years ago, I started on this one. (And still do to this day! I think the Brother CS6000i is the better deal for the extra $30. The model comes with a few more options that are useful compared to this model.
Sewing has been a part of my life since I was six The second one I wore out had lasted a long time, so this was my third sewing machine. My machine became so prone to bird nesting that I destroyed it for a Singer 4453 that was much better. My computer has never been so frustrating in my life. It froze after 2 1/2 years, even though I sewed on it only for six months because I was very sick. An error message stated that there were threads tangled in the bobbin holder, and thus the motor was frozen. NO, the event did not occur.
You can make 87 different stitch options simply by changing the length and width of the stitch.
It's not unusual to consider denim as heavy fabric, but velvet usually In addition, you will need to use the correct needle, thread, and test the tension to make sure it is correct. You should also sew a bit slower than you normally would. By pulling on the fabric, you can bend the needle, or in the worst case scenario, you can cause the machine to go out of time, and need to have

The machine I have is quite satisfactory in terms of overall performance. There are a couple of specific things I have noticed Several reviewers mentioned that they felt it was a bit frustrating that the needle always ended in the down position and nothing could There is a problem with this assumption, because it comes pre-programmed with the needle ending down, but the instructions tell you how to turn it around so that the needle ends up. This is something that can be done very easily Hold the button down while you turn the machine back on after turning it off, hit the button the book says you should press, and then turn it on again. As a result, it always ends up in the up position, as most of us would prefer it to. Several other points raised in other reviews are also correct. Firstly, the LED is not a very bright light. When I was sewing, I could not see details clearly if I didn't have a separate light right over the machine. Secondly, it is not easy to read the screen on which the stitch choice and lengths are listed. The screen does not have a backlight and is not illuminated. As I have a vertically mounted machine, the main light comes from above and behind- As a result, there is little light coming into the front. In fact, I have a small flashlight next to the machine to illuminate the screen so I can see the data
I found it easy to thread the machine for basic sewing, and for threading the bobbin. I found the self threader to be a bit harder to use than my old Brother, but after a few attempts, it worked. It seems as though I am constantly hitting the other parts of the machine when I attempt to use the self threader. It is a plus that you do not have to bring up the bobbin thread yourself. The machine pulls it up by itself each time. In addition to being wiggly and not very sturdy, the arm that holds the tread spool is also too weak. It looks good now, and I hope it holds up in the future.
Despite the fact that it's 2020, it's still working fine! began using it as a beginner and it has definitely developed and improved with me as I've become proficient. I recently worked with my husband and daughter on making masks to donate to local hospitals during the pandemic. I just wanted to let you know- Even though they were very inexperienced, they were able to handle it and learn how to use it fairly quickly. This is a 5 star rating.
The machine we purchased for my mother, who has sewn for over fifty years, is very sturdy. In addition to taking excellent care of her things, many of her machines have lasted for more than a decade. I have experienced issues with this machine from the first day I got it. Customer service has not helped me. It is not clear how to use the manuals. This is the third time in less than a year that it has stopped working.
My own machine is the one I ordered and was taught to sew by me. It is an amazing machine, and I told my sister in law about it, who ordered one as well. As a Christmas gift for my daughter, I bought one in October. I had no problem using it as soon as I opened the box. In spite of the fact that the machine was brand new, it was past the return deadline. A part was ordered on 12/27/17, so the machine has been sitting in the service center since then. In fact, I'm about to buy a new one at the store and toss the old one when I buy the new one so my daughter has It was a waste of money and I will never buy another one online.
Despite its age, it is my first sewing machine, and I hadn't used it since I made pajama pants in high school over a decade before. In the past few years I have made slipcovers for two parsons chairs and a club chair, as well as a queen-sized duvet cover, various clothing items, curtains, blankets, a cover for my sewing machine, and several other things I cannot recall If you're a beginner or just love to sew, then this machine is perfect for you. Because I only sew ten hours a week, I'm not sure how well it would hold up for a professional or someone who spends over fifteen hours a week sewing It will take 12 hours a week, and a couple of weeks to complete each project. This is a small, lightweight device that still kicks butt and takes names like a champ! There are no complaints on my part, and I am hoping against hope that nothing drastic happens to me now that I have said this. 2) I love this and only wish I had a larger work area to use it!.
Previously, I owned a Singer Traditional (which gave me trouble almost from the start) and I replaced it with this Brother machine and I'm in love with It is amazing what a difference can make! Singer does not compare to the Brother in any Every aspect of the sewing machine is fantastic, from the way it sews to the accessories that come included. The machine I expected to be smaller and flimsier than it turned out to be. The answer is no! My fear of sewing anything on the Singer used to even extend to the simplest of tasks. I can't wait to see the movie now! The only two negatives I can think of are that the "drawer" is open at the back, so all items must be put in the pouch (supplied). I also can't find any way to change the starter stitch on the machine (from straight to To the left (00) - I noticed that the center (01)) would flash briefly upon powerup, but it's not a big The whole thing isn't bothering me at all. I might call them to see if they can help me figure it out.
