Questions & Answers

Leatherwork is something I enjoy doing. 8 oz leather for belts and holsters I had to use my aircraft tin snips on my most recent project. Will these be able to slash through thick leather? thanx. ?

I'd recommend using these blades instead of scissors because they cut through heavy belt-thickness leather like a hot knife through butter. The company makes two types of baldes, one for abrasive materials such as sheetrock and the other for clean cutting materials such as leather and cardboard. These are some of the places where I use them: HAUTMEC Box Utility Cutter with Dual Use Mechanism. as well as this, which I adore: Gerber EAB Lite Pocket Knife 31-inch Gerber EAB Lite Pocket Knife 31-inch Gerber EAB 000345 with a Tajima blade that isn't the same. I believe these are far superior to scissors for leather work. I just finished making some stacked-leather belts with the HAUTMEC and the Tajima blade this afternoon. and-adhesive For my bench grinder, I have two leather polishing wheels. When sharpening knives, I'll use them in conjunction with polishing compound to achieve the final edge. It cut through the thick leather with little effort, and I didn't even have to go over the cut a second time to finish the job. It took only one smooth pass to complete the task. Loved it.

Is it possible to resharpen the blades?

Yes, with the right sharpener and sharpening technique, they can be resharpened. Because the steel is forged, the blades are long-lasting and only require minor sharpening.

Who makes these scissors, and where do they come from?

Almost all of them are made in China, just like other top-tier scissors brands. Please do not hesitate to contact our customer service team if you have any additional questions.

How long do these scissors come with a warranty?

My scissors, which I bought in 2018, have a nick in one of the blades about halfway down the blade. As you can imagine, I can't use them to cut fabric or much else. When I called Amazon, the person on the other end of the line made me believe it was just my bad luck. Unlike the majority of Amazon customer service issues, this was a one-of-a-kind situation. They should either be replaced or refunded, in my opinion. Alice MHelton is a writer.

These scissors appear to be a decent pair
5/5

These have a lot of potential, and I'm very excited about it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a professional scissors critic, but I needed a pair of scissors that would cut stuff the entire length of the blades without skipping a spot halfway down and forcing me to move them forward or back to get a better cut, and only being able to use a 2in segment of an 8" blade (rant over), and these delivered. There were no skips, slips, or glitches from the back of the blades to the tip. Will they withstand the test of time and use and continue to cut? I'm not sure what I'm saying. After a while, if I remember, I'll update this review and notify you.

Extremely dissatisfied and a complete waste of money!   Disappointed to the point of frustration! This pair of scissors isn't up to the task
3/5

The fabric isn't cut by some parts of the blade. The handles are uncomfortably heavy and uncomfortable to hold while cutting. There isn't a single thing about them that I like. It was a complete waste of money!.

Scissors that are both exceptional and affordable
5/5

They're big, but they're light as a feather. They're as soft as warm butter when it comes to cutting through fabric. Because the tips are so sharp, I've used them to sew seams. ripping.

There isn't anything sharp about it
3/5

It's all in the video. As you can see, the end of these scissors is not sharp. This irritates me greatly. They're completely ineffective. I sew, and these are definitely not up to par. ☹️.

It rips through fabric like a piece of paper! The scissors are fantastic
5/5

I'm the one on the left- Scissors, on the other hand, are a huge pain for me; As you can see in my pictures* (where I did it out of habit in one or two lol) I’ve spent 90 of my life shoving three fingers into the thumb however. I'm pleased to report that these scissors perform admirably in any position. They're excellent scissors for crafting and art, and they served me well. I work with a lot of thicker fabrics, such as sweatshirt material, vegan leathers, and plastic, as well as pleather-like materials. It's been able to cut through a variety of materials, and it's done so without difficulty. To be honest, I am petite, not strong, and have a shaky grip. br>I first used them to "crop" a hoodie into a crop top, and it was like cutting through paper, as I mentioned in the title. As previously stated, I've cut many more fabrics since then. That type of thing, and, I'd imagine, anything that's easier to cut through, really works well with it. The best part is that weaker or duller scissors are more likely to fray thick fabrics or compromise the product's integrity: not so with these. br>In my opinion, these are just as good as more expensive craft scissors, and the oil-resistant feature is a nice bonus. The slick rainbow coloring on the blades is just aesthetically pleasing and adds to the overall cool factor of the scissors. I mean, as cool as scissors can be, I suppose. They appeal to me greatly. These scissors have a nice appearance. Finally, if you're already sold, you can stop reading here. but. Because I dye a lot of fabrics, I like to work outside whenever possible, and because I'm an idiot, I left the scissors outside all day. Last week, it happened *overnight*! And, because Murphy's Law is true, that night brought the most intense thunderstorm and the heaviest rain I've ever seen in my neighborhood. The rain was absolutely deluging. However, because I was unaware that they were out there, they sat in a shallow puddle until about mid-afternoon. the remainder of the following day To cut a long story short, I'm sure they would have eventually, so I wouldn't advise it, but They did not rust or tarnish in any way (photos taken AFTER this occurred)! I bring this up because the other items I left outside with it (an exacto knife, for example) were also accidentally left outside. a razor/knife, as well as some small jewelry- Within that same time frame, the scissors (which were sitting right next to them) DID rust. Although only a little, I thought the fact that the scissors remained in good condition spoke to the product's quality and integrity, and thus was worthy of mention. br>br>I hope this information was useful in locating the ideal crafting scissors for you: )
—- br>*BTW, for the sake of dignity, and in case anyone didn't notice, my fingernails/hands are filthy as a result of said dye. I was working with black, for the record.

scissors that are excellent These scissors are of excellent quality
5/5

They appear to be well-made and balanced at first glance. br>At first, I thought they were a little stiff (I guess my old ones were a little loose and in bad shape), but I cut some heavy canvas fabric with them and they cut easily and felt good in my hands; In my hands, they felt substantial but not overly so. I'm pleased with my purchase in general. You're not going to be let down.

The cuts are smooth, but the mechanism is not
4/5

These scissors are nice, but they aren't "loved" by me. They're very nice and sharp, and they cut very well, but the cutting mechanism isn't very smooth. Yes, it cuts smoothly, but when I'm cutting fabric with them, it's not like cutting butter with a hot knife, which is what I look for in a good pair of fabric shears. The edges are in good condition. There were no knicks, even minor ones, anywhere along the edges after they were sharpened. The blades are made of durable metal, and the handles are soft enough that cutting thick fabric, such as med-weight cotton, isn't painful. canvas or denim, depending on the weight. These are adequate and will suffice, but I will not be purchasing another pair when I need new shears or a back-up pair. shears to the top.

BUTTAH! It rips through fleece like a knife through butter! These scissors are absolutely amazing! I'm not going to lie, I was skeptical at first because I had never heard of this company
5/5

But, because I do a lot of cutting, and the reviews said it easily cuts through leather, I decided to give it a shot, and OMG! They are outstanding! I make fleece no-sew blankets, so I cut a lot of them, and I'm kicking myself for not getting these scissors sooner. And I MAKE SURE MY SCISSORS ARE SAFE. My fabric ones are only used for fabric, and they aren't as strong as these. I'll most likely buy more and keep them in case I misplace these! I strongly advise you to try it! I prefer these to my other ones that do the automatic opening thing. These are simply superior in quality. I bought the other ones (the auto open ones from another company) because I saw a lady at JoAnns cutting fabric with them and assumed they were the best, but they weren't. These are far superior! You will not be disappointed if you give them a try!.
