As a gift, this yarn will be made into a baby blanket. Bernat Softee Baby Yarn is something I have purchased many times in the past. This skein had three knots in it! In order to conceal them, I had to do a lot of work. Bernat sent me replacement yarns last year after I had a problem with the Antique White Baby Yarn. It looks like Bernat hasn't contacted me this time, but I will not be buying this brand again.
Buying this yarn for a baby gift has been a good decision. I had an ideal beginning to my project until about halfway through, I ended up with something similar to a bowl of spaghetti (see photo). A day after this, I spent six hours trying to sort things out. It is for that reason that the rating is low. Bernat yarn hasn't been used in many years, and I am not sure if my experience is typical or not, but I wanted to share my information with others. In the end, I had to cut out the knot and tie the ends together.
I paired the pink with the white baby yarn to create a toddler hat with a beautiful light color. In this case, I doubled a light #3 yarn ) for the There was no doubled yarn in the white.
To match this color, we were looking for a shade between salmon and red that was called "light red". There is a little more pink to it than we had hoped, but it does the trick. There is a soft texture to the fabric. Our intention is to stitch a contrasting color blanket stitch around a couple of couch throws with this material, so the thickness is perfect for our use. Since I am not a knitter, I am not certain whether this yarn is thinner than normal but not significantly.
I was initially quite impressed with this yarn I bought, thinking it was going to be perfect for a sweater for my granddaughter, because it seems so soft. It would have been better if I had rolled it into the ball when I first got it, since it's all tangled and knotty now. I have come across a fourth knot while rolling the yarn to make a ball, as can be seen in the pictures. I am not sure what to do with this Due to the fact that it is past the return date, I was unable to return it.
The yarn was easily hidden since I am making a stuffed animal and need to reattach it to the body. I do not plan on returning it.
Since weeks, I have been having problems with it and thought it was me, but it was The material is super soft, but 1) it shreds. It comes knotted at a variety of locations! You can't undo it since the pieces are laced together and there is no way to remove them It can be seen on the project! 3) I couldn't find the end piece, so it has become an unpickled jumble of knots & clips. It's a tangle! We started a new roll of silk from a different brand and there were no problems.
